Can't wait to see the difference tonight. They came out good; not perfect, but time was limited.
FYI: The "Before" pic is after a recent detail and a wipe-down prior to pic. EPIC FAIL!
Also, any local E46 owners who have OEM or clear, used or new, corners for sale, I need some for this 04 sedan as you can see. I know they are cheap as hell, but I want some locally so I can get the headlights aimed this weekend, and I'm not picky.
220 Grit dry sand, 400 dry, 400 wet, 800 wet, 1000 wet, 1500 wet, followed by many many passes with M105 on a yellow pad, and M205 on an orange pad with the PC orbital.
Topped it off with a couple layers of Collinite 476 wax.

Nice work. For some reason when most detail their cars they polish and wax only the painted body/bumpers etc and forget the head and tail lights need this too.
For those of you that are planning on doing this, I'd avoid the 220 Grit.
At first I thought it was needed it because of severe pitting and discoloration, but I noticed some small swirls and some random hazy spots when the lights were on and it was dark out last night. Next weekend I will pull them off and restart with wet 400 until they are perfect.
Also, it's best to switch direction between each sand paper, but the easiest direction to go is long ways. Make it easier on yourself by sanding long ways, then using the same paper, switch to short ways. That way it requires less work to remove the pits and oxidation on each next step. Hopefully this makes sense.
Edit: One more thing. In case anyone is wondering, I pulled the headlight covers off to sand them, but put them back on to polish them. Getting proper pressure with a polisher is difficult without them mounted, but it makes quite a mess sanding them that way.
Again; Sure, I could have bought new ones, but I plan to get HID's eventually, and on top of all the suspension parts I should be buying at 140k miles, spending $70+ on boring arse parts is, well, boring.

I have a set of stock yellow corners that came off my car. 2000 323Ci i will be willing to let go cheap. I can even ship them to TX
I did mine, I'm sure guys at the shore46 meet saw they were still kinda foggy because i never got a chance to polish it...but i went and bought the meguiar polish rubbing compound since i already had the cleaner compound..and they look brand new. i mean 10 vs 72 bucks for such an EASY diy...its worth it...i don't understand why anyone would ever buy new ones =) its okay p46s coming in the mail in 2-3 weeks
