17x8 // 17x9 Style 66 from E39?

Hey!

I'm thinking about the new setup for the incoming season right now, and I've got Styling 94 on my mind, and now I came up with an idea to get Style 66s, because I can get them for a fair price.

Sizes are:
17x8 ET20
17x9 ET26

To do the possible best fitment I would do 205/40s in front and 215/40s in the rear.

The thing is... Will they fit? Has anyone tried that combination? What do you personally think about it? Any experiences on putting 9J on 17s with ET lower than 30 on rear?

I'm not worried about the front, because I think that it will fit just alright, fronts are HUGE in E46.

Thanks in advance for any kind of help!

Googling first would probably help

If 225/45 and 245/40 fit why wouldn't a more narrow setup? besides of course looking silly.

245/40 rub on the rear as he claimed, and 225/45 is just too wide for fronts IMO. That's why my question comes. Maybe someone will be able to suggest me the best tyre sizes.

I'd say you are safe with a set of Falkens. Are you lowered?

Not yet, putting prokit in a month. But yeah, from the photo that you've provided it seems that they will fit perfectly.
