Hi and welcome to E46fanatics!

Before you go and stress your engine in your hot Florida climate, you need to refresh things like your cooling system. The cooling system in your car could be a weak point if it hasn't been replaced, a overheated car makes poor hp.

A supercharger kit makes less power, but is much easier to install. A turbo can make more hp, but is much more difficult to install and tune.

There are a lot of variables to that question. Depends on injector size pump and regulator speed and cams lifters etc. there's a lot of upgrades to do so you don't kill your engine in 15k miles

The thing you seem to not understand is that you don't just buy a sc or turbo and plug it in. There are several other components that need to be renewed or upgraded to make it work and those choices affect the hp result. I suggest watching some you tube videos on it and pay attention to the rear down and build of a sc or turbo

For example do you know about turbo lag or belt drag and upside and downs of each or even the different types of super chargers and I'm not referring to brand

The simple answer is if you bought a ESS vt1 supercharger kit it would cost about 4300$ and it would make about 100 hp. They are considered easy to install and are very complete, you could install it in a day or two by yourself.

If I felt the need for more power in this car, I'd consider Nitrous. Search for username Rob and nitrous

Most off the shelf turbo and supercharger kits running about 8 psi will give you and approximate increase of 100hp for a manual gearbox.
- Auto tranmissions are around 7 psi.

You don't need to do anything else to your engine except bolt on the kit.
- saying that, make sure your engine and cooling system are in a serviceable state.

good luck.
