Also please note that the pic of the S2000 was it moving and the E46 was not. Mostly because it was probably broken and leaking oil.
E46 moving, notice the smoke out the back end from burning oil

General question for your S2K fanbois.

Is there more room in an S2k compared to a miata? because I drove a miata once, and i literally could not shift the goddamned thing because my knees had nowhere to go and would just bank the underside of the steering wheel. Obvs not made for taller people, but I always wondered if the S2K had more room.

Just saw this on craigslist, now this is what I'd get if I was looking for a 2dr fun car. So beautiful.

On my list, my father knew someone that was selling an old 928 or 944 for practically nothing, rich guy had no more room for it and just wanted it gone, was garage kept like new, I really wish we bought that car, I think he wanted less than $10k for it.

Just stop comparing a miata to an S2k lol, they are very, VERY different.

I'm 6' tall and fit perfect in one. I never think "oh this is uncomfortable" EVER. Actually the exact opposite, it hugs me and fondles my balls.

They are supposed to be awesome drivers car, too bad they got such a bad reputation here.

It's the most raced car for a reason, there is nothing wrong with it other than perception from non drivers.

The S2000, like the FD3S has a timeless look. The E46 M3 is timeless also, not so much the non Ms.

No, space is probably similar. The Miata might actually be a bit larger inside.

yeah the s2ks are very roomy considering, although the seats can be snug, my buddy was over 6 foot and had no issues fitting in his, he was slim though, I felt the seats hugged me a lot but I just wasn't used to them.

I went through an S2000-crave phase about a month ago. I found one I really liked and almost bought it. But then I came to my senses and realized I didn't have any room for a fifth car.

I technically have no room for a third car, but I could make it work. Living in a duplex right now so we already have 4 cars in the driveway (garages are packed with crap) but I could make it work, we will be out of this place before I get a toy though.

I honestly LOVE the E46M3, very timeless look. Really, I loved my 330ci's look too:

I just think it's unfair to compare and nicely modified e46 to a stock looking AP1 with no lip or anything.

I could technically make it work (we have a three-car garage and a big courtyard driveway) but it would mean having one of the nice/decent cars out in the sun all the time. Right now the designated outside car is my daughter's 20-year-old GTI.

Nice looking car. I think the coupes have aged better than the sedans (totally unbiased), especially the rear. With LED tails and a lip, it can look several years younger. Only problem is being a 325 nobody ever sees the back because everybody is always passing me.

HAHA.

I completely agree. I never really liked the look of the 4-door e46, even after the facelift...

I had the LED tails on my coupe, really changes the look of the rear... Kinda the same deal with the AP2 s2k, the AP1 tail and headlights look pretty old when you compare to the headlights and LED tails of the AP2.

Also, I really like the front of the new Miata, but I just can't get over the rear tail lights... Just looks goofy. Not to mention it's completely under powered as usual. I mean... Almost 100hp less than the S2k...

The S2000 is iconic in a sense, but the question is, do want something plug n' play like a new MX-5 or are you looking for a hobby car?

Most parts are impressively cheap for the E46, especially when compared to other cars. For instance, upgraded struts, shocks, springs, reinforcements and peripherals for my 330 cost less than a single air strut on my W220 Benz.
