Cayman S, Yay or Nay?

Direct price competitor for an M3/4. What's the latest word on them and would you consider it?

Which one, there are 3 different type of Cayman, the 987, the 981, and the all new 718? They are all very different. I assume you are talking about the 981 since it's compared to the M3/M4 more often. Honestly, it's not even a close comparison, the M3/4 is more a sports sedan than a sports car. The Cayman is a mid-engine, lighter, and better handling sports car. Personally if you don't need the extra two seats in the back. The Cayman gets my vote easily.

My Ride: A car.
911 or Nissan GTR a little too expensive.
I kind of like the Jaguar F-Type, but doubt I'd get one.
Not a Mercedes or Audi fan.
Not really interested in any American cars.

So...it's kind of BMW or Porsche, lol.

4 cyl turbo, it doesn't sound as good as the 981 but everything else is better. Like I said before, if you don't need the back seats, the Cayman is a much better sports car.

While I'm sad it lost couple of cylinders I'm strongly considering it because I'm getting tired of these new heavy cars.

Do you prefer a powerful GT that can handle or a more dedicated sports car?

If A, get the M4. If B, get the 718. Both are great in their own way.

My only gripe with Porsche, when buying new, is the amount of rappage occurring for the options listed. "Hmm....let me buy a 60k car and add 30k in options that only marginally increase the experience!"

I balanced the same choices before I got the E92 and I'm glad I didn't get a Cayman. Get the M4, it's a better all-around car and IMO looks 10x better too.

I'd go for a CPO 981 if you're doing a Cayman S. If you can find one....

I actually know of someone who is selling theirs due to back issues and not being able to get in and out of it anymore. It's mint with low miles, located in Indianapolis. Never driven in the rain or snow. (he's got an E92 M3 for that. ) If you're interested, i can give him a buzz to get details. I just know it's an S, similar to space gray in color and i believe it's a manual.
