Thanks. Shoulder specialist she saw wed said that her pain threshold will determine how hard she continues to train. (assuming training doesn't involve more crashing) So she was running this morning and is planning to ride this Saturday. X-ray techs at the walk in clinic said seeing her X-ray was the highlight of their week. Due to the prior hardware.

Hope she recovers quickly! It's supposed to be in the 60's this weekend. Time to wipe the dust off.

Interesting, I had not ever know of WEDU, but google helped me learn. If I had the money I'd probably buy a kit, but at this time money's too tight to consider.

I've seen a few people online wearing the kits. This is the first release to the public. Same here on buying one. Road bike needs new tires, Jeep needs new steering box, and I need a motorcycle.

It's my excuse to get something to offset the Jeep's 15 mpg. Now that I have my full license back I've been blowing through gas. Plus, I've been craving something faster without buying another car.

On a side note to all the Chicago area guys. I'm doing bike the drive again and plan on making it a century. Let me know if anyone wants to meet up.

Have any of you guys ever serviced your pedals?

I put Shimano Ultegra Carbon PD-6700C pedals on my bike in Aug 2012. I estimate they have about 13,000 miles of my fat ass leaning on them.

A few times over the years, I've had intermittent creaking from the cranks when out of the saddle and pedaling hard (well, pedaling hard for me). Previously I could fix the creak by removing the pedals from the cranks, cleaning and lubing the bejeezus out of the spindle threads and crank threads and reinstalling the pedals good-n-tight.

Lately, that trick hasn't worked. So I investigated further and noticed some play in the spindle within the pedal. Both sides but more so on the left. I tightened the spindle nut into the body on both sides. Seems to help the creaking noise, but within a week or so it seems tightenable again.

So I'm thinking I'd like to replace the spindle assemblies. But I've only found sellers in EU and China. According to the interwebz, the parts are Y46N98020 and Y46N98090. Am I just an idiot with the google or are these things not available in the US?

I'm also thinking my rear derailleur jockey wheels need to be replaced. That seems pretty straightforward.

Side gripe: Garmin Connect seems to have been updated recently and the ability to search via keywords is gone. WTF

I grease the wife's pedals regularly. Every 2000k miles or so. If she gets caught in the rain, much more frequently. They are speed plays though and require maintenance. Easy to do though.

They don't seem to be available in the US.

Weather/roads have been crap in the northeast the past week or so but some warm weather is coming up so I should be able to put some miles in. I started dating this girl who is into biking/running so it's looking like it's going to be a great year....

I need to replace the shifter and brake cables on my bike. Any recommendations? I saw on amazon and some other sites the shimano shifter cables for around $23.

The bike has 105 components, carbon frame and internal routing to the rear derauler. Thanks!

here's a full size pic to see the cable routing

Buy the slightly more expensive and lighterweight variations with whatever path you travel. IMO you'll appreciate the little things like this once it is all said and done.

And also add some stickers or protection anywhere there is cable contact with he frame gets my vote.

If you're looking for exact recommendations on specific cables, My friend got these and they're a solid option.

I stumbled across that set last week. I'll definitely look into them. The bike has the sticker in the spot where the cable touches the frame, no wear on it so it's good to go.
