No major updates. I found a set of wood grain trim pieces for the dash/doors. I will be able to wrap those pieces with vinyl, and swap out my stock piano black trim at some point. Also found a Janus-Design double din stereo kit for half price, brand new. At some point, I will be installing the double din I had in my Q into this car.

The car looks great! The 3m di-noc carbon fiber wrap would look awesome on the interior trim! Personally, the only thing I'm not a fan of are the color matched grills, but other than that it looks beautiful!

Front and rear are rolled, camber front and rear. I believe I'm at -3.1 up front, -2.5ish out back.

Boy. Amazing how life can push off "builds". After a crazy year of switching jobs, moving to a new state, and becoming a father, I finally have had time to carry out some much needed... and wanted... items on my touring.

I did a WHOLE lot of maintenance. First was major overhaul of the brakes, including rotors, lines, ebrake system, pads, and rebuilt calipers. Next came the cooling system refresh. Lastly, I replaced all engine belts, pulleys, and tensioners.

I also had grown tired of the B&B rear section muffler. The drone was too much on my commute. I was able to score a ZHP muffler, polished the tips, painted the canister, and had it welded on. Perfect exhaust note and looks to compliment the OEM+ look I'm going for.

First on the list of "mods" was the installation of a double din stereo. Using the Janus Design kit, a good friend of mine helped me install it. This installation is NOT for the faint of heart. It was a bit nerve racking watching him cut the air box behind the dash! The installation came out fantastic though. The engineering of the kit truly makes the cost worth it. We did not run into any issues. I still have 100% functional use of the HVAC. Better yet, the stereo when combined with the trim piece, looks OEM. The sound has VASTLY improved with the additional EQ and crossovers that the stereo provides. I also took the time to run the iPod cable up and into the retrofitted armrest.

Today, I had the time to install the "new" interior trim. This has been a project 12 months in the making. Problem was that I could never find any color/finish that was different but still tasteful. A random search on 3M yielded a vinyl that seemed very promising. Antique brushed copper. I contacted a local guy who wraps cars/bikes/trim/etc on the side. He just happened to have enough of the material in question to wrap all my trim.

I really love how it turned out. The color goes well with the black interior and red exterior. It really brightens up the interior too. I couldn't be happier.

Next up, wheels. I've had enough of my current Style 73's. The tires are about shot on them any ways. I was able to pick up a set of 17x8/17x9 Style 32's for a pretty cheap price. Though the tires are too big for my car, they are practically new. I should be able to sell them to help pay for new tires. My plan is to refinish the Style 32's myself in the coming months. I also picked up a set of Racing Hart C2's that, once the Style 32's are finished, I will be refinishing as well with new lips, hardware, and finishes.

Feels good to be once again carrying out my vision of a "perfect" OEM+, daily driven touring.

I really like the brushed copper trim - works quite well with the black interior and red exterior.

AWESOME wagon!!! I just picked up one myself here about a month ago from Iowa, had to fly a friend out to pick it up for me because I couldn't get off work and I HAD to have it!!

Glad to see the touring scene is strong, loving the hellrot on black. Mines Stehlgrau on taninrot, 5 speed, no sunroof, factory Xenon, gloss black trim, no factory cruise (was added thank GOD), HK sound, backup sensors, and no HUD thingy (Displays MPG and MTE )

Keep us all updated for sure! I will be sure to make a thread for my quick progress once it gets out of the bodyshop

Have you sold the carbon hamann lip??

Thanks for the compliments! I loved the M-pars as well. E46 +M-Pars = Timeless.

I still do have the Hamann lip. I also have a Rieger front lip meant for their CSL style front bumper that I hope to have modified to work with the M-Tech bumper. It follows the contours pretty well except for the middle. Material needs to be removed at the ends and material added in the middle. It would sort of end up looking similar to a Gambino lip for the M-Tech bumper.

Picture of it mocked up before I installed the new M-Tech front bumper.
