wow that was like every fox news talking point all blended up in one paragraph. i'd love to see some sources on how many people think the government should take care of them. the rich are taking way more than their share which makes income inequality even worse, and doesn't help the economy either.
what do you do to people born with a disability and can't work? There are lots of mentally handicapped, multiple sclerosis, parkinsons, paralysis, etc...
So you propose basing the entire system around these individuals? You can't look to exceptions to define the norm..... but you try to ALL THE TIME.
Care to provide a percentage of handicapped individuals that compose the unemployment number? Let's be real and honest here.. most chronically unemployed individuals are there BY CHOICE. No effort or expansion from the federal government will motivate those individuals or turn them into productive members of society.
the prison industrial complex is just another example of capitalism gone wrong. private prisons are for profit and lobby the gov't for more laws/money/contracts/enforcement with guaranteed incarceration rates.
I've yet to see a link that you've posted backing your previous statement that private prisons --> higher incarceration rates. All you're posting is that the US has higher incarceration rates, largely due to nonviolent crimes. Come on...
Edit: Chris posted something decent though it is USAToday...
I support people dying and suffering at the hands of their own choices.
CHOOSING to work for a company that does NOT provide healthcare.. and NOT signing up for it independently of your employer if you do is stupid... and if you get sick, the fault is on the individual.
The CHOICE is the one made by Wal-Mart and other businesses like them, to employ (for example) 100,000 workers at 34hrs per week, vs. 90,000 workers for 40hrs per week, and a reasonable benefits package.
Hey B, I'd like to play professional golf, travel the world, make millions in endorsements, and marry a smoking hot chick....
But it's not in the cards. We all must make due with the talents (and limitations there within) that we have.
