Snapped the top off MAF

I have searched for a similar situation but couldn't seem to find any posts on it. It seems like it would have happened to someone else.

While diagnosing my coolant leak, I removed the air box. I'm doing so, I accidentally broke the top off the MAF. To where you can grab the plastic square and lift out the actual sensor. The whole casing and screen is still secure. The top part just won't stay in place by items. My question is am I able to repair this somehow? (I did think about zip ties but that might be a little to sketchy imo. Lol maybe some kind of sealant?) Do I just replace it? There is an autozone branded Duralast MAF for 130 with a lifetime warranty. I asked the guy there and he said they are probably made overseas. Is this going to be the same quality as cheapy eBay ones? And does autozone have standards that are met to make their MAF do the correct job? If I could repair my OEM one it would remain OEM quality and I would save the most, but it is also 15 years old with 108,000 miles use.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. 2 minds are better than 1.

The consensus here is that the Siemens/VDO is the only acceptable MAF.

Everything from FCP comes with a no questions asked lifetime warranty:

Actually, I think I linked to the wrong sensor for your car. It's only $215:

There's also a German-made Bremi sensor for $115:

Bremi is an OEM, and it seems like a quality unit. It depends on whether or not you're comfortable risking a different option from the known-to-be-good Siemens/VDO.

It's $250, but still $150 less than Genuine BMW.

If there's a hole or a crack on the MAF, it's unlikely that you'll be able to do anything to fix it properly and keep is sealed.
