One on the bolts holding the radiator on had disappeared , causing the radiator to 'drop' back , and the expansion tank was rubbing on a belt pulley... And had pierced a hole in the tank!

Anyway , Iv got some decent coolant for now, and done all the correct procedures, and she's back in action

I think it might have been karmas way of telling me to change the expansion tank.

I also gave a good wash , and clean the alloys to perfection

Notice how red the new level stick is compared to the old one. However, you are overfull. When you finish rebleeding the system tomorrow morning when it is cold, the top ball of the red float should be level with the expansion tank threads, not above it. This assumes it is 20 degC outside, so in practise may be a few mm lower than this with the current UK temperatures.

Thanks. My M3 came with it painted the same as my body colour so i'm not sure if it was ordered like that or if it was sprayed after the original owner bought it. Either way I'm happy it is the same colour, looks better in my opinion.
