Steering rack question

Are steering racks swaps allowed - 13.3 ratio?

I think this falls into the "If It Doesn't Say You Can Do It You Can't" category. So, I believe the answer is no.

John

I would have thought the same - but my understanding is that some 330s came with a purple tag rack which was 13.3 from the factory - going to a zhp rack (13.3 ratio - same as purple) does not provide any advantage only helps with longevity as its a beefier unit.

It would be good to just allow the switch to a 13.3 rack...

Thoughts?

I checked BMW's ETK. It comes up with 4 different part numbers for the 330.

32-13-6-757-651 from 9/01 to 2006
32-13-6-753-438 up to 3/01 not for M sport
32-13-6-755-065 up to 8/01
32-13-2-282-296 M-Sport (may not be legal)

I have no info on ratios.

I've had very few issues with the rack. I have had issues with the pump however.
