Bosch and valeo alternator

So my alternator went out and I noticed that the bottom half with the bearing and everything else was Bosch but the upper where my voltage regulator which was what I found was the issue so me being me thinking valeo and Bosch made a collab or something order a Bosch voltage regulator since it was cheaper basically my question is will the Bosch one work or is the valeo one needed

You need the Valeo one for a Valeo alt.

Bosch for bosch.

+1 they are not interchangeable as the connectors and voltage regulators are different.

Well I did some digging and aparantly Bosch has been refurbishing old valeo alternators and just keep the valeo regulators which is what I have I order the part and did the job myself for 70$ compared to BMW charging 500+ time to crack a cold one with the boys

Congrats on sorting that issue.
Does Bosch really have an interest in refurbing old alternators at all?
