A little bit of both. I can put some for sale in my shop, but mainly just a way to pass time.

It would be awesome to make a pen from a piece of oosik. So when people say "nice pen - what's it made of?", you can say "a walrus's cock". That would never get old.

Just as a way to pass time. I did it in high school and figured that since I enjoyed it then, I would enjoy it now. Once I start getting good at it, I'll start selling some out of my shop

I've been woodworking for about eight years now. I'm self taught and don't have a lot of time, so it has been slow going, but I enjoy it. I'm mostly into doing basic stuff like small and medium sized boxes, picture frames, clocks, cutting boards, all the staple entry level projects.

I've done a few bigger things too, like a dining table, mantle, sofa table, and some other stuff.

I consider myself to be marginally talented. Here are a few of my pieces...

Before

After

My masterpiece. This is in our dining room. It is eight feet long. Wood is Alder and Walnut
