TV mounts are cheap and easy to get on Amazon, not worth it to DIY one.

The big reason I started this was when looking for coffee tables for the basement. All of the tables we liked at the furniture store essentially looked like a bunch of 2x4's nailed together and they were charging $600 for a table. I said fvck that, I can make one...and I did for a total cost of ~$30-$40 and a weekend of my time. I'll be much faster next time since I've picked up tools since then.

I'm planning on making a bar table for my basement next but the wife wants a bench or something for the entry way. Still deciding which one first.

In future news, I will have made a bench first.

Hey man, it sure beats paying for one! Lol.

I wanna get into this woodworks thing but don't have the tools and precise measurements is not my strong suit. Things will come out all crooked and stuff.

I just asked him to make me a long wood ramp so I can drive the whole car up instead of the traditional 2-wheel ramp. It's nice to have someone who does these kind of things.

edit: he did something similar to this, I think it's call a french cleat.

French cleats are strong AF, I used them for the magnetic bottle opener I made. I'm not sure I'd gamble on holding a big ass TV with wood boards though. Especially not when I can get a mount for $20 from Amazon.

You can get into wood working with some pretty basic stuff and measurements aren't all that precise at the get go. Sh1t, the kerf of a saw blade is 1/8" as it is so that's not all that precise anyway.

I stopped pen turning a while ago. I made ~15 of them and then stopped when I moved into a townhouse. Now I've sold the townhouse and I'm closing on my new house on Friday. I gotta get a shed first, but then I'm probably going to get back into wood working. Hopefully I'll be able to make that humidor I mentioned on page 1 lol

I really like that table. Is that 2x6s below and you made the table top itself? Do you think you could make one of those spinning expanding tables?

The bottom is 2x4's painted, I made that part as well as the top. This view isn't that great to show off the pattern of the top it's got a bunch of pieces glued and nailed together.

You mean you actually do things outside of work and don't commit your entire life to powering the corporate machine and fulfilling the objectives of sparkle motion?
