My Ride: used 2 have 2 pedals
Got a lot going on with the car now that it's summer and my schedule is freeing up here shortly. I've been putting off the post cat o2 sensors for way too long and the check engine light has been driving me crazy. I realized I wasn't using PB blaster the first time I tried to remove the old sensors...we'll see how it goes this time. I also am going to be fixing the horrible popping/howling of my bad rear wheel bearing on the drivers side. If the install goes smooth enough I'll do the other side as PM. I'll post my experience with that job and how i tackle it when the time comes.

I finally buckled down and purchased a Behr electric fan to replace the mechanical fan and aux fan as my car is an automatic (for now). No more semi truck noise wow! I purchased the wrong brake ducts at first shown in the picture but I got the correct ones off a forum member at a very good price promptly. I also upgraded to the actual front air duct for the m-tech 2 bumper. While I had the bumper off I noticed the bumper guide on one side was separated from the bumper cover :\ I contacted Umnitza and they said they have seen this a few times and typically comes from natural causes such as vibration or impact. Maybe I hit a bump too hard Anyways I guess the fix is very simple and it just takes some excess plastic and a soldering iron. There are certain plastic welds that pretty much just need stitched back up and topped off with JB weld. I'll probably reinforce the other side while I have it off again.

As for the fun stuff, I'm picking up a rear M tech 2 from a forum member in Cincinnati this weekend and possibly the ZHP side skirts. That being said the donor bumper is black... I decided I will be tackling the project of wrapping my car rather than paying to spray the bumper. Some will probably think I'm crazy but I get that it's not for everyone. Vinyl samples pictured below - I'm very undecided...

Plans for new front calipers/pads/rotors/stainless steel lines all around and to paint the calipers silver/gray with the G2 system

I'm about to do the fan swap the second my tools come in. I realized I didn't have a 32mm wrench

I am more than pleased with it. No more semi truck noise. The car is slightly more quiet in general.

I did the swap too and I really like it as well.

On a side note, why did you paint/cover the part of your trunk behind the license plate black?

It's a vinyl overlay. I've always really liked it that way.

evanr614 pre-facelift coupe "build" thread

Wheel bearing job a couple days ago...sucked, but I have the tools and could do it much faster if I have to again.

Prepped and painted the ashtray piece thanks to a forum member DIY.

Link: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=1107873

M Tech 2 rear bumper and side skirts have been in the garage for a few days. Taking them to get prepped for wrap in a few weeks.

Finalized down to 2 final colors. A unique matte metallic grey and a non-metallic gloss grey. Pictures aren't that great, however leaning towards the gloss grey.

Looking good!

Do you have a link to the DIY on the ashtray piece?

Gloss FTW. The matte look is completely played at this point.

Thanks. Updated the post with the DIY link. I have purchased all new interior pieces in the past but couldn't justify paying 100 bucks for the ashtray piece. The prep was a pain but it turned out really nice and I'm happy with it

Love this thread. Subbing. What paint brand did you use for the center console? Looks very OEM in finish.
We have the same car and we both love those amber corners! I highly recommend some LED tails. No need for OEM. Here's the ones I bought. I don't eBay a lot, so I don't know if they're a good deal, but they look really nice. If you want the amber corners on them, I used these. Really rejuvenated the E46. You can check my thread (hopefully tonight) to see what mine look like.

Thanks. I will definitely get some LED tails at some point. The paint is just regular Krylon flat black from Walmart

It looks really close to OEM. Would love to see it installed with the rest. Did you use a clear coat? If so, what kind? I recently painted something and the clear coat "messed up" the finish and color

Topspeed Auto in Texas. I've heard reported confirmed fitment of these. I will be wrapping them with titanium wrap. Will most likely just be tuning out the 02 sensors and the air pump but we will see.
