My Ride: E46 318i Facelift
E46 performance problem, rough idle, high fuel consumption, sudden increase in speed,

Hi all, I hope I'm at the right place, I've taken my E46 318i Facelift N46B20 to bmw specialists to have codes read and came back with O2 sensor faults but they said it cant be the O2 sensors causing the problem. Car idles rough, stales sometimes, hesitation on pull off, sudden increase in speed while cruising. High fuel consumption, when I accelerate the engine bogs down then I have to release and press the accelerator pedal again to get it going. Sometimes the car runs perfect, and sometimes it just runs like its got flu, idling jumping all over the place, stalling and just won't accelerate, have to keep pressing accelerator, like when you test the brakes by pumping the pedal, I have to basically pump the accelerator pedal to get movihad Delayed acceleration. I've fitted new NGK laser platinum spark plugs, new fuel filter, new air filter, new oil filter and castrol edge 5w40 oil, new eccentric shaft sensor, new tapped cover gasket, I've had all radiator hoses replaced and vacuum hoses, reconditioned vacuum pump, secondary air pump is bypassed. I've had a diagnostics test done with gt1 and impa. Like a said only o2 fault codes. They recon its the cvv that's maybe blocked or one of the hoses leaking, I'm at my wits end with this problem, I've searched everywhere and tried everything, oh I've even fitted viton orings on vanos solenoids and cleaned them, and tested pencil coils all four are 0.78 ohms. Any help and or comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think you may want to start your own thread due to your model. Put "381i Facelift rough Idle, hesitation". You need to get an OBD11 Veepak scanner and OBD Fusion app, so you can report your own codes, search poster jfoj for a great guide. Right now we don't know if your pre-cat sensors are causing the problem or the post cat sensors, but my guess is it would have to be precat. CCV system that's at least 12 years old, if original, causes all kinds of issues, but we need your codes.
