The ring is neat. Rings scare me though. Afraid I'll get my finger pulled off in a machine.

So that's not even your final form?

There was a pothole near my house that 4 cars had to pull over because of flat tires. I slammed it in my Jeep and all was well. Was super happy, nothing happened. I like having a vehicle I can not stress over every time some jerk opens the door or I curb a rim. It's very liberating having a vehicle that is extremely difficult to damage. Plus I have the s2000 for the days I wanna go fast Ricky Bobby. Trust me, I would LOVE the hellcat Grand Cherokee (I could even justify it to the wife) but I don't want to be upset every time I get a new nick or dent on it.

Eh I get it but the S2000 puts such a smile on my face all summer long that I really want it year round. I totally get the point of the Jeep, I do the same with the one I have now and it rocks through it just fine, but every time I switch cars I just feel that something is missing. The Jeep just feels so big, heavy, and lazy that I have a big itch for speed and handling.

There is a cure for that. Move south somewhere. Better weather, same COL. Still lots of stuff to do.

OTOH, having to drive a big heavy SUV makes the S2000 feel that much sweeter when you do get to drive it. I'm considering getting my old WJ back from my sister when I get rid of the E46. That was really practical car. I'll probably wreck it immediately on the first curved highway off ramp.

Another reason is that if I get something fast for a daily I have a feeling I'd lose my license quickly darting around town in a hot hatch.

My Ride: has a meter in it
while unrelated, i'm in a new camry rental while my car is in the shop and i'm more than impressed with it. v6 has a nice lil punch to it and new car tech is pretty nice.

I don't want to move south, not a fan of the overall environment and especially not where you're at. MN is a great place to live and the only place I'd move to at this point is the Denver area. At that point, I'd be obligated to trade the Cherokee in for a Wrangler but I don't see that move happening anytime soon.

Remember I live in a very different area from you. Everything around here is a lot more lax, roads are better and more open, DOT services are a lot better (plowing, etc), and overall just less sh1t going on. I wouldn't really have problems with potholes, cops, room to run, etc around here.

I guess I didn't comment on this...but the S2000 is a lot different than even the hot hatches you can buy right now. Even the STi (sedan not hatch because Subaru is stupid) feels like a luxury machine in terms of NVH compared to the S2000. The amount of noise, vibration, and sensations you get from driving the S is quite a lot different to the point that I always have an awesome experience driving it regardless of what the other car is.

It'll be pretty much just as expensive as the CRV anyway.

Looks similar to my tlx. I get about 24mpg city and 39 mpg hwy. mine is v6.
Liking my 9 speed automatic. Looks like BMW and Mercedes are going this direction with their trans also.

The political environment? Meh.

HSV is wholly separate from the rest of Alabama, but I wouldn't say move here. I'm talking Nashville area or similar (Raleigh, Charlotte, etc).

I'd consider North Carolina. I can't move to Nashville otherwise I'd gain 100lbs in a month from eating Hattie B's chicken three times a day.

We can't move at this point because we are just kicking off a big remodeling project. Need to stick around for a few more years to realize the gains from this.
