98 corolla vs '15 corolla

Crash tested, dang look at the results. Amazing difference but yeah, no surprise. Where does a 2001 bmw e46 fit into this equation?

Trying to remember everyone I know that has ever been in an accident, Im talking EVERYONE, and Im talking EVER. I don't think a single one of them has been this stupid moronic offset test.

Not the same exact test but not bad for an almost 20 year old car with Takata airbags, replaced with new Takata airbags, replaced with some other new airbag.

Lol. Why is that? They assume you are going head on, and steer away at the last minute and just tag each other offset like this? Must be assumptions.

Almost everyone I know has been rear ended, animal strike, Tbone, sideswipe, or slid into. I have never personally heard of anyone that got into an offset crash. Now, I know their logic....narrow two lane road, one car veers into the path of the other, and boom, I've just never heard of it actually happening to anyone...not to mention, the wrangler gets around this stupid test on a technicality lol.

That's because they don't live to tell about it

Curious if anyone here actually has an account of an offset accident.

Happened to my colleague a few years ago when he took a back road that was a split two-lane road in between our plants. The driver of a van coming the opposite direction fell asleep at the wheel, crossed the median, and hit his BMW 335i coupe head-on @ 45 mph like in the crash videos. It totaled the BMW and put my colleague in the hospital for over 3 months. He fractured his ankle and had massive bruising all over. This was middle of the day too.

Yikes.. much worse because of the weight and height of the van..

The driver of the van was apparently fine and walked away with minor injuries. The BMW was destroyed. The front fender was crushed in and shattered (plastic) and the footwell had receded inward hence the leg injuries.

An s2000 would only suffer paint scratches in a crash like that.

They literally tested the biggest POS they could find from 1998, obviously technology has improved but not every pre-2000 car is a deathtrap.

well case closed , the jew's statistics are the only ones that matter. well i have had friends that have only been in offset collisions so these are very important to me.

Guess you didn't read the rest of my posts then? I clearly said that I personally don't know anyone and I'd be curious to hear if others had any incidents of such accidents.

This is not Mango's thread, it's mine, so lay off his tiny nutsack, thanks.
