Hey guys

My PA soft has the bridge on 7 &8 already. Did I read somewhere on this thread that 1 & 2 need to be bridged as well?

Frustrated

So I've read through 50-60 pages of this topic and I still can't get this thing to work!!! Ike and ews errors nothing reading at all!

E39 m5 2000
Used 20 pin adapter
Used xp computer
Pin 7-8 jumped
But I don't have the typical version of the scanner! Mine isn't the solid board but rather wired soldered to the pins that run to a board.

I'm so confused and desperate to get this working!!!

I have exactly the same problem as Peterthenotsogreat, my adapter lights up as it's supposed to on both the OBD and USB sides, recognizes on the computer fine, but connection always fails. Inside, my adapter has wires on a plug to the PCB. 7&8 are on the same wire (therefore bridged) and 1&2 are not connected to anything. I tried bridging them together but it made no difference.

Does anyone know if the scanner requires USB 2.0? I'm using an old T23 which only has 1.1, and I'm thinking that may be the issue.

PA Soft versions

Hi.

I've not an E46. But I'm new to PASoft and you guys in this thread are way ahead of anyone else I can find.
I have a late 2002/2003 spec E39 Sportswagon.

I've used NCS Expert with the dummies addition but its still a bit difficult to use.
I recently purchased an eBay copy of PA Soft with the 1.4 OBDII connector. It connects up quite okay with pins 7 & 8 shorted together.

However, in my research i was lead to believe that this software could synchronize the cars clock with the laptop time but I cannot find where this happens.

Also - i found that a couple of the modules show different mileage to the dashboard. Nothing drastic - all either side by only 100 - 300 different. How important is this? Should they all be identical? And if I wish to make them all identical, should I choose the dashboard display or is there one particular module that is the "master" that the others should be the same?

Finally - I wish to have visual confirmation of locking and unlocking with the key FOBs. But even though i tick the boxes for both visual and audible and write to the module, it doesn't work. I tried this in NCS as well. What is wrong here? Can anyone suggest any other settings I should have to make these work please?

The version I received with the adapter is 1.4.0.07. It seems to be the most common version to find on the internet.
But was there any versions after that? I seem to remember 1.4.0.09 was the final version but I cannot find it anywhere.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone have these show up in PA Soft and know what they're about?

These are past not present code that have been corrected some how. Clear the error & see if they return
One looks like the 2nd air pump & one looks like drivers mirror heater may be dead.

Except the first one. Drivers mirror. That's the little motor that adjusts the mirror. I get that error but it still works. I think the their is corrosion on the terminals that increases resistance and gives the error. Does your mirror adjustment work?

The motor works but does not function the way its supposed to when putting the car in reverse. Sometimes when going from reverse to park the mirror tilts down and stays stuck that way

Only the passenger mirror tilts for reverse (and only when the switch for that mirror is active) Your error is for the driver mirror? As I said, I see that error periodically but my mirror functions ok.

Razor I had the same problem. It went away when I replaced my 8.5 year old battery. If you battery is new the ribbon that connects to the driver side mirror motor is bad and needs to be replaced most likely.

This is for the passenger-side mirror.

Battery was replaced a couple months ago. I suspected the mirror motor or cable to be faulty as I find the tilt down feature very useful

Stupid questions for you guys. I downloaded the pa soft demo a few days ago and it reads codes and shadow codes just fine on my 02 325xi. Today I tried to read my uncles 2000 323ci with ms42 and it told me how many codes it had, but I couldn't see them unless I bought the full version. What gives?? Also are all you guys using the demo version? I find it hard to believe that the full version is only available for 600 bucks

The most important thing that people must realise and understand is that you cannot use any ordinary obdii cable nor can you use the obdii inpa cable either.

The PASoft cable is recognised as a different type of device in Windows and will not be seen as a COM Port. If it does get listed as a Com port, you have the wrong drivers installed.

Is it possible to bleed the system (slave cylinder on SMG) using this OBD reader?
