Kool.

Will you document the fitment of your hose route and alternator fitment?

Will you run a thermostat?

Definitely looks the part.

Looking forward to the end results.

My M54 cam chain tensioner had very little resistance compared to the S54 cam chain tensioner.
Do you have the part number of the S54 tensioner?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E46-M3-3.../271743496773?
$151.

I asked them what they mean by "German supplier" and I got this reply:
"It's made by Ruville in Hamburg and they are original equipment.."

Seems like a good option (and cheaper)

Probably for tensioners and stuff. They're part of Schaeffler group where Ina / Luk / f.a.g also belong. All 3 brands are found in BMWs leaving the factory. That said, I managed to source a genuine S54 tensioner (80k miles, used) for peanuts which I will be installing soon

Nice work.

Compare both for compression Resistance.

Let us know how it feels once installed.

All the best.

Spring tension uninstalled isn't relative, they are hydraulic

Increased 7000 RPM limit to 7200 RPM limit

Increased 7000 RPM limit to 7200 RPM limit last Tue.

Got an extra 1.0 - 1.5 psi. LOL

Hope fully I will have a Dyno next week, just waiting on other things before I can finalise.

Get the headers on and get a bigger exhaust already. That should give you a bigger increase in power and torque than any more boost you gain.

LOL, I was not looking for extra boost... LOL - If I wanted more boost I would put on my 6.8 inch ATI Dampner.

The 7200 RPM allows me to change gear at 7000 RPM without hitting the rev limiter.

The last few months I have been away a lot and had very little time for major work on my car, in the last couple of months I have probably spent about eight hours on my car.

So... my next major work will be, fit the eBay Headers and ad another 2.5 inch pipe with a 100CPSI cat like the one I am currently running. This will go straight upto my rear rear muffler which already has 2x 2.5 inch inlets for the 2x 2.5 inch exhaust pipes to fit to. Then a tune and re-dyno.

On the same Dyno Dynamic dyno as my last dynos...

- What do ya recon... an extra 20 whp? (I am hoping this will be my minimum)

Hey jdjg,

How is ya beast going?

Well... If I was going to change my exhaust system to another single pipe then it would only be a 3.5 inch single system - based on my internet trolling.
3.5 inch single would reduce my clearance even more and I like my ride height as it is...
So... 2x 2.5 inch pipes would give me the best of both worlds (clearance and extra performance).

Why not install exhaust and ati before going back on dyno?

The ATI may put the boost around 28 psi, not ready to muck around with the engine yet.
I would at least have put a bigger SC pulley on to keep the boost down but the under drive pullies really would not be under drive any more.
I will have to look into having the ATI machined down if possible.

Will do both, it came today so I will do a comparison/install this Saturday in new thread so that I don't pollute yours . Need to clean it and re-oil it as it is used, but for $50, no big deal!
