yes, a good kit, but we also recommend our Luxen bulbs. Much better long term quality.

It came with the projector.
But without xenon kit installed.
So it looks like xenon from the look, but it is not.
So what can I do for this case??

Thank you

Oh I see!
I just need to purchase HID kit for H7 then.
Thank you so much for your advice and I will look for one on ebay.
Is there any specific kit you recommend?

Thank you!

Don't go with ebay, they're incredibly cheap in quality. I've seen them melt harnesses, bulb connectors, etc

My Ride: 320CI Facelift
E46 Xenon to Non-xenon

I may have a stupid question but I cannot find the answer anywhere so I am gonna strike it up here.

I currently have the Halogen light with lens on my 320CI FL with H7 bulbs.

Is there a difference on the headlight itself between the Xenon and the halogen one or its just the bulb.

On my headlights i see that says "H7 or B###" *which i supose that the B... stands for xenon bulbs but I am not so sure.

Thanks!

You need to get H7 halogen bulbs.

This is the realoem page for my car, but yours has the same headlights.

It's been discussed many times but yet no one has posted any pics of the light output afterwards... you can get an H7 HID kit and install it in the facelift coupe headlights. The beam output/pattern will NOT be the same but it will still have the proper cutoff so you are not blinding people.

Thanks for a very helpful post. I've been disappointed with the HID lights in my car for a while, but I think you've given me the reason - the bulbs are an intense blue/white. I'm guessing that if I change them for something in the range 4-5000K I'll be happy.

Next question is slightly more difficult...
I've got a facelift E46 convertible (late 2004 330Msport if it makes a difference) - reading through the thread I think it should have HID projectors for dip beam and halogen reflectors for main.
It's got that, but the HIDs look like they're an aftermarket Haddon - its got these driving the bulbs: http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/canbus-...id-xenon-kits/
And, whats most confusing is that its got a headlamp levelling control inside the cabin - I thought HIDs were supposed to auto level. Its it possible it could have had halogen projectors - is that combination even possible? (The HID bulbs are an H7 fitting)

Thanks for any help

Paul

You CAN but they are very poor quality. OEM projectors are the way to go and you can get them at a decent price.

OEM projector headlights, but with an H7 HID kit added to the high beams which makes no sense. If you push the left turn signal stalk forward for the high beam does the inner high beam turn on or does the low beam produce more light?

I would get rid of the HID kit because the temporary flashses from the high beam usage will kill the bulb and mess up the LCM which has happened to many people.

This is where the confusion starts...

with the stalk forwards, the inner beams come on and they are regular halogens.

The aftermarket HID with the H7 fitting is in the dipped beam (which doesn't change switching between dip and main)

Cheers,

Paul

Ah, so the HID kit is in the low beams, so the car has stock halogen projector headlights. Gotcha.

The HID kit is that of a low quality product so that is probably why the output is low. Can you take a picture of the lights shining onto a wall with the car being 25-30 feet away? i can gauge how the light output is with that. Thanks.

Hi - thanks for the reply. So halogen projectors is a possibility is it? That would explain the levelling wheel inside. Thought it was supposed to have HIDs as standard?
Picture is of beam pattern - don't get hung up on the colour (color ) the camera was confused by the carpark lighting. I've already decided that life will be better with a warmer bulb anyway.

Cheers Paul
