Steel Blue E46's don't get enough love!

Hello fellow fanatics!

Been a lurker for quite some time, slowly trying to add onto my novice e46 intelligence!

My vehicle color is a seemingly unpopular and "feminine" colorway, so I wanted to portray this color in a different and slightly more aggressive light?

Admittedly, I HATED stahl blau colored vehicles and this vehicle wasn't even my first choice, but I ended up getting screwed at CarMax after waiting there for about 7 hours and not even being able to purchase my first vehicle I test drove.

I purchased this E46 325xi with 91,000 miles at the age of 18.

Automatic, no special packages, non sport and facelifted ... pretty much everything I dreaded, but I made due since I figured I'd eventually like it.

(Here is what it was the day I got home from the (steal)ership)!

I was happy with how the car drove, but I also disliked how high it was and how ugly the stock bumper was.

So I slowly started looking at modifications and scraped up about $900 for my Umnitza FX-R HID Projectors and Orion V4 angel eyes and then the mod bug started to carry on!

(Dicked around with my vehicle looking like this for a few months)

(Then I got tired of how quiet my car was and decided to purchase other mods and wanted to lower it)

(After 3 months of riding with an uneven ride height due to idiotically purchasing RWD KW V1 variant coilovers, I finally decided to purchase the XI variant KW V1's from ModBargains. I was appalled to see that the XI variant costed $1729 + shipping, but Jurrian there helped hook it up!)

(Ever since then, I've been slowly and surely adding on more and more little details to my car!)

Large things LOVE parking next to me hahaha, weirds me out ...

Lowered the front a little more since some of these pics and I take the splitters on/off depending on how I feel (strange, I know).

Everyone ALSO told me that lowering an XI was an imbecilic idea that should be thrown out immediately, and I just simply refused to believe that I'd stay with this 4x4 height forever.

Love the car as it sits right now but I've got lots more work I want to do, including a CF CSL trunklid/Arqray front lip/interior refinishing and I eventually want tanin red leather seats as well.

Mod list would include -

Orion V4 AE + FXR Retrofit projectors

DEPO LED EE Tails / DEPO Clear turn signals / DEPO Clear side markers

Matte Black Kidney Grills

E46 M3 decklid spoiler

30% tint all around

Yellow side marker bulbs / Yellow turn signal bulbs / Yellow foglights + vinyl

Bright white LED bulb interior kit + license plate bulb from ECS Tuning

Rogue Engineering Ikon Exhaust w/ 2nd resonator delete

M-Tech 2 front and rear bumpers from Khoalty (would not recommend)

UUC Underdrive pulleys

ECS Short Ram Intake

UUC Rear shock mounts

KW V1 XI Coilovers (fronts and rears spun all the way)

Authentic CF side splitters

OEM M3 Tri-Spoke stitched leather steering wheel

OEM M3 Headunit w/ MP3/IPOD capabilities w/ aux cable retrofit

OEM BMW weather-tech floormats

BMW Mechunik Tow-Hook License Plate Bracket w/ stainless steel M-Technik plate frames

BMW Mechunik Tow-Hook attachment for my rear bumper (my tow hook cover won't clip in anymore LOL)

Maintenance wise, I've replaced my spark plugs/coil packs

Air filter/cabin filter/oil changes every 3K miles but there are lots of things for the XI that need replacing, so this is just the start

and my wheel specs would be

Rays Engineering Mercury Silver VOLK TE37's

18x9.5 square +28 offset wrapped in 225/40/18 Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires.

All 4 fenders are rolled, and rears are pulled 1/8 an inch!

Pretty sure I forgot a few things but it doesn't matter because I'll be adding a lot more to my car in the future!

Thanks for taking the time to read all of this information + view all my shitty pics haha.

STAHLBLAU FTMFW!

Congratulations! I've been eyeing a nice 335i lately ... but I don't think I deserve to upgrade yet haha.

The wheels are I believe $1560 + shipping each but I acquired them from a dope ass member for around 3 stacks.

there are a few Steel Blue Only threads you'd likely enjoy. here is just one
http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=555959

looking good.
not really a fan of the tow hook but to each their own. i also agree with those open spoke wheels to paint the rotor hubs, it'll look much cleaner.

I agree that steel blue can look good with a bit of work. Here is my steel blue wagon, Avus M3, and Alpine M3. I know the pic is crappy. I need to get a real camera and stop just using my phone.

'03 Wagon is loaded other than Navi from the factory. Mods are mild, has been lowered (w/ HR and Bilsteins) and the black 18in CSL reps. Working on getting the MTech II bumpers for it and may do the roof rail delete.

The Avus M3 is stock other than (HR and Bilstiens). Formally my father's that I convinced him to purchase a while back opposed to an S2000.

The Alpine M3 is on its way to the other side of the drive way, as I'm selling it to my brother. Its got a few more mods and was my first BMW.

Steel Blue E46's don't get enough love!

I really like how your car has changed!

I would change my headlight to xenon w/ angel eyes.
Probably the clear turn signals and side ones.

I like your tail light too! Dang, I should try to follow your history..

my car is old so I've been doing it more frequently, to say every 3000 miles is a bit of an exaggeration

More changes have taken place to this car since posting!
