If you're afraid of getting sick, get a patch from the doctor and start wearing it a day before you leave. Grab a couple handles of liquor and stash one in each of your bags. Plenty of my friends got liquor on but a couple got searched and they took the liquor so it's best to split it up if you can. On the Carnival cruise I went on, LITs were the best bang for the buck drink and beer was by far the most expensive.

I've been sea sick before on deep sea fishing trips and was nervous about the cruise but honestly didn't have any problems.

We snuck on clear liquor in a case of water bottles. With Royal, you can bring your own drinks/water on board with you. We bought a case of water and removed the waters from the package carefully without damaging it. Then used a butter knife to pry up on the 'security' ring as we opened the lids, this way the rings were still in tact and the bottles didn't look opened. After that we topped them up with liquor and repackaged them back into the pack, keeping the liquor more in the middle. No worries.

Late at night though it was like playing Russian Roulette when we woke up thirsty/hung over and went to get a drink. One morning I unknowingly took a big gulp of Vodka and my jimmie's were from thence forth fully rustled.

Oh, and tip your people. They appreciate that and will look out for you.

Unless you've been together for less than a month, screw it (literally). Condoms are for one night stands and new girlfriends.

+1 to all the advice here. Some ships allow you to bring your own wine onto the boat so make sure you make the most of that but be sure to bring your own opener.

Lol I agree . Birth control and raw dog is the best way, I don't even know how to use a condom. And carnival has a policy were each passenger is allowed to bring 1 750ML bottle of wine or champagne only. So I'm gonna grab 2 bottle of white Zinfandel and use that to get tipsy..

If you like snorkelling don't go to Meagan's Bay when you're in St. Thomas. Coki or Sapphire beach are much better options try to get a tour like this http://www.sunnylistontours.com/tourpackages.html

You get picked up at the ship, toured around the island then dropped at a beach of your choice for a couple hours. You can then be picked up and taken back to ship or downtown to browse the shops. Downtown can be a madhouse depending on how many ships are in port but I always enjoy walking around.

Very good advice on the ships doctor. Just be sure to wash your hands often especially before you eat.

Have a great time!

There is so much information there it isn't even funny.

Book you OWN excursions privately, not through the cruise line. You will save at least 50%. I have always booked my own excursions and have NEVER had an issue.

Take 1/2 of the clothing you think you will need. I always pack multiple pairs of swim trunks. That is mostly what you will be living in the whole cruise.

Carnival food SUCKS BALLS. I've been on three different ships, all of them have been the same. They are trying to feed 4000+ people, if course it's going to suck. I have found food on other cruise lines MUCH better. Skip the formal dining and just eat at the cafe. It's the same food, just presented differently. As others have stated, if you want better food, book the up charged dining.

Put your alcohol in mouthwash bottles and stash them in your checked baggage. Simple. Works every time. Do not attempt to bring alcohol from any of the ports back on to the ship. They will just confiscate it and give it back to you at the end of the cruise.

Seriously, check out cruise critic. Best possible resource you will find.

Here's a link that shows you how to sneak alcohol onto a cruise:

OP - you can book your own excursions and save money. That is true.

HOWEVER, if you are late to the ship, you WILL be left there.

IF you book through the ship, they will wait for the excursion to return if they are late. They communicate with the excursion companies they use.

Just something to think about. (flat tires, car issues, getting lost, getting robbed, etc.)
