At the same time I'm begging for a Highway patrol car to see this and impound this hoon off the road, but does it happen? No that **** only happens to me.

Seeing the needle at 200kmh, oncoming traffic headlights, kangaroo country and knowing Dave's driving ability, (Ive seen him lose it from stand stills to 20-30kmh and end up on the other side of the road 3 times), I asked him to slow down.

"Yeah bro, that seemed good but you were already almost halfway there when you punched it" I said, the real test is how fast can you do 0-100 and a 1/4 mile, as we couldn't test the quarter mile Dave was easy to G-up, he slowed down and came to a complete stop.

He throws it first and is ready to punch it, revving the **** out of it, out came my trusty Samsung Galaxy S3 with a built in stop watch feature, Dave's all hyped up, revving it and waiting for me to say "go go go go!!!"
I get all ready and I tell him, I will count to 3, on 3 you go and I hit start on this stop watch.
Dave looks at me wit this huge smile on his face, ear to ear, it was the same smile he gave me after his girl anally penetrated him with a dildo "ok" he said to me, real anxious and girlie like.
"1... 2.... 3!!!!" I yell, Dave, the Peter Brock of BMW, drops it and puts his pedal to the metal, the car screams and comes to life and that squealing sound returns, sounding like its ready to blow.

.025 seconds go past...were still in the same spot
.050 seconds go past... were still in the same spot
.1 seconds go past.... yup same spot
.5 seconds go past... as above
.75 seconds go past.. same spot but a slight surge forward about half a metre
1 second goes past... you can feel the traction now gripping on
1.25 seconds go past and were off and racing!!!!!

.
.
.
8.90 seconds later, the car reaches 0-100kmh.

Congrats you clown, you just spent 50k making your car slower than stock, how do you feel?
Cool story bro. I would never break any road rules, or endanger mine of any others life's like that.

Don't know if it is possible with the m3 diff you have, but if you could change your ratio down to 3.38 running your 19 wheels, you should get much better 0-100. At the moment I would guess you have to change twice to get there, diff ratio change would mean only one gear change, quicker time.

Like I said, no idea if it was possible? Custom cut gears depending on carrier size??? No idea. I am stuck with my ratio because of my tranny, never looked into this myself.

I work for an engineering company, the gear cutters we use for all our gear cutting are excellent and very helpfull. I can pass on there contacts if you like, but I have no idea of the size of the carrier in the m3 diff and if this is possible???

Turner have options that you could look into, maybe they have a gearset on the shelf???

They have the option of 3.23 or 3.45 on there custom M3 diffs.

3.23 would look good, to 100 with one change, good cruising rpm at 100. Calculator is pretty accurate for clutched drive.

Please don't think I am being a smart *ss here, my job during the week is basically to solve engineering problems/ dilemmas. Just trying to be helpfull. My knowledge of m3's is limited, I have never had the chance to play with one, and most of my experience is with the 330 and 325.

Here's the issue, been thinking about it whilst driving home. How many standing start launches do I really do? I mean most of my driving is between 40 and 110kmph. Is it even worth changing ratios and spending a few grand on new gears that realistically would only be for 0-100kmph drags?

If you had a rooted M3 crown and pinion, could always machine some blanks and then have them gear cut and heat treated. This option may see you come under a grand easily.
