Post ///Barbaros' Official Build Thread... Car #2!

So here is the 2nd part of my build thread. As you guys know, I have been around for a while and I have spent so much time, money and effort in the making of my e46. I sold her recently because I wanted to step up the game, I wanted both the power and the looks. So with the money that I got from the sale of my e46, plus extra little amount of cash, I picked up a TIAG E39 M5. I am planning on not only making it look nicer but also add some more power to it. I have been in the bimmer game for quite some time so I assume I know what to do and what not to do. I have always been against owning a car that runs like s*it but looks great, so maintenance is my priority! The car did not have any maintenance records, I had no clue what was repaired or replaced. So I did a blind maintenance on it, replaced everything that is possible. It was running great but I feel like it's much better now that all the minor/major maintenance is done. This thread will contain lots of pictures and little DIYs. If you see a mod I did and no DIY with it, just PM me so I help you. First couple months, I will only be doing minor mods so do not judge me or call it lame The biggest and the best mods will be full color conversion and forced induction, that's all I can say. So here we go.....

- 7/15/2013 the date I picked her up

- Lots of maintenance...

And extra engine cover that I plan on making it a coffee table :1:

- I got hit by this food truck 2nd day!!

- Plastidipped the chrome kidney grills just because it's reversible and I wanted to see how it'd look in black. Ordered black ones

- Gotten a full detail. PO was a dirt bag. The car looked like it was parked for years and never washed. There was mold everywhere!

- Plastidipped the diffuser as well. (using plastidip on pretty much everything, because it is reversible like I stated before) I am getting the finned CF diffuser soon.

- Went to a Pick and Pull junkyard and scored some perfect parts and upgrades. I will post them up when installed.

Refinished my horrible looking Style 65s. I have never seen rims flake like that, except for the chrome finishes. It was lots of work but at the end, they came out amazing IMO. The color is called "Carbon Metallic".

Very nice use of plasti dip! Not usually a fan of black wheels but loving the 'carbon metallic' look on the style 65's

Thank you guys!!! Here's what i did today...

I had an extra wood trim laying around and since I wasn't going to use it because it is wood, so I have decided to paint it.... Then I went crazy with it just like I did with my e46, but on this car colors make sense lol

Looking good, trim is a bit kiddish though. You should get a slimmbones CF finned diffuser, those are amazing in real life.

wow man looks awesome!

How did you refinish the rims? did you sand, bondo, primer, and then dip/paint?

Looking forward to that coffee table lol

Also if you don't mind, how much did you pick up the car for? I'm actually looking for one.

I dig the interior trim. Added your own flare into your own car. Looks awesome.

TiAg is my least favorite color on the E39 M5 but I hope you make it work!

Would I be right in guessing that you are BMWow on bimmerforums? You just happen to be modding with a very similar style... lol

Looks absolutely amazing, will definitely keep an eye on this.
