expatriation is not an easy opt out. If you do you have to show you have complied with tax laws for the last 5 years. Which means if you have your other assets undeclared up to this point then you are still liable

If you live abroad just file a Form 2555 with your income tax, your exempt up to $97k.

That's what I do every year and I have 3 citizenships (US, Costa Rican, Panamanian). Currently living in Costa Rica.

I know a ton of people making well over $70k and literally ONE of them has security clearance.

I understood all of that from the article, but how/why does the gov have reign over your assets on foreign soil? If you pay taxes to that country is that not enough?

If you have a visa it becomes a problem because the company has to process the work visa and all that's all

A good friend of mine won the lottery in Romania which gave him the opportunity to become a US citizen. His family has since spent about 50k to become citizens. If you're living here and you don't want to be an American, fvck off to Romania.
