My new key has arrived. Genuine BMW Key with logo and IT WORKS PERFECTLY

I had to initialize both keys, which takes about 30 seconds and now I have 2 full function keys.

Total cost, including postage was US$140. Just so you know and don't panic, it took about 2 weeks to arrive via regular post.

I have contacted the dealer and he is happy to help any other Aussie BMW owners who need new keys (or any other spare parts).

If you are interested contact Ron Vose on this email: ron.vose@billdodgeautogroup.com

Payment can be made via PayPal on this email address: lloyd.chandler@bdag.com

When ordering you will need to provide your vin number, a scanned copy of drivers licence and rego.

See earlier posts in this thread for cost of valet keys.

I hope this is helpful to other forum members.

Excellent news. Just curious why a US dealer would need your license and rego?

To prove you own the car i guess, rego papers agreeing to cars registration and your name per license to the rego papers.

Happy to lead the group buy. Just send me all your details including garaged address / VIN

Congrats Con, that's a really great find! I was worried over the weekend when my main key started playing up. I re-initialised it along with the full spare key that I have and everything is a-ok. Might just get a valet key for good measure. Anyone know if they are waterproof and can be taken swimming in a pool or at the beach?

What else are they going to use to apply for a CC in your name?

Yes it does. No chip means no start.

I'd be down for a group buy (serious). Only problem for me is the car is in a company name. Proof of ownership?

I'm guessing maybe Company Rego and Company letter head nominating you as the driver.
