Looking for a Food Photographer

Hey guys,

My wife and I want to start an online bakery. We are looking for a photographer that can showcase our pastries in the best light on our website. I've done some searching in the photography section and the only relevant thread I found was the resource thread. I'm not sure if the links provided there are for fellow fanatics or other photographers in general.

I know food photography can be expensive. Since we are on a limited budget we are looking for someone who is willing to work with us and maybe gain experience in food photography. I hope I posted this on the correct section.

If anybody is interested in offering their services please pm me with prices or email me at kingdaddy183@gmail.com

I'm surprised no one is interested in testing some product photography. I'd be interested, but I'm not in SoCal. Good luck.

Thanks guys. I thought about doing it myself but photography is not something I'm interested in. My phone is as close to photography as I get, if you want to call it that.

Food photography is expensive, because it's really tough to do well. In addition to having the technical competency with a camera, you need food stylists, and scene designers to make everything look great.

In Ontario, we have the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario), and they publish a fantastic monthly magazine, with incredible photos.
Take a look here, perhaps get some ideas. www.lcbo.com/fooddrink/***8206;

Take a look at this thread for some samples, too. Some mediocre shots, but some great shots in there also. It really is about lighting, and staging the food correctly.

Re: Looking for a Food Photographer

Thank you for the links adam. I checked them out and the lcbo website had some nice pictures. I will browse photography on the net forum and see if I can pick up any pointers, incase I have to bite the bullet and do it myself.

My day gig is IT at a food manufacture, but since my back ground is in digital art I have done some of the photowork for them. When we have outsourced it is incredibly expensive. PM me and ill put some of my food photography work together for you as examples.

Also socal is a big place where are you located? I live in riverside work in corona.

Thank you for the support. I'm in Whittier. At the moment my wife and I decided to test the waters and start an online bakery first, mostly catering. If all goes well a brick and mortar store will be in the future.

The website name is www.cafemandorle.com. Now don't laugh, I'm designing the website myself and learning as I go. It's my first time.

It's a project my wife and I decided to do together and see what happens.

Maybe when we do the photo shoot, you can stop by and try some pastries.

I specialize in food images but am located in Atlanta. I don't think that food images are any more expensive than any other discipline, it all comes down to how the images are to be used. Just in case checkout www.tonyclarkphoto.com.
