Roger that.

yep. this muffler doesn't look like it has been worked on before. the rasp occurs in chamber 4 [empty one] so when it's welded up, it should retain the sound as if it was straight piped but a little quieter

I am not arguing. But if its the oem muffler that the rasp occurs in then why does welding an ar20 in section 1 eliminate it ?

I think that both the engine and muffler attributes to the rasp. It's just amplified in chamber 4 from what I'm hearing. I was doing some research and I think that metallically rasp noise is a signature M3 noise since the E30, E36 and E46 all have it (not sure about the E9x). There is significantly more rasp with the euro style headers as well. If you delete the resonators, that also adds even more rasp. If I didn't weld any pipes up, there would be a ton of rasp since the gases could flow more freely and move faster in the muffler or something like that

Thats what i taught. It occurs in the headers. Possibly gets amplified in the oem muffler.

I have the RE Xpipe with EVC. The M5 had a muffler delete and the other two M3's had stock exhaust. You can definitely hear the difference

Done. Here is the final product. If you hear any sounds that don't fit in, that may be an exhaust leak from the new headers.
Shockingly it sounds a lot like the borla or any of those deep sounding mufflers. I'll admit with this setup I'd recremend having somesort of rasp killers because it ruins the low end deep noise which I'm not sure I like yet. It's very quiet unfortunally. Not as quiet as stock but deffently a lot quieter than the OEM muffler with aftermarket headers. I'm really suprized though since I only have chambers 1 and 2 pack. I really don't want to rip it open again but I want it louder, it's way too civilized now maybe with a eletric cut out I can be rebellious again ^_^ This may be good though since I always wanted a good induction noise and now I could finally hear it. These exhaust mods are far from over. Next up is a RE X pipe then maybe some SGT rasp killers. Maybe I just may take the packing out, we will find out.

I'm working on a new video cause my headers had a crack in it so it sounds different now but the muffler sounds stayed the same so the video above still works! sort of

I was just going to leave the muffler off so it went from muffler delete to muffler mod! I would buy a gruppem if this muffler mod didn't sound better :p

I really missed that no muffler sound so I decided to invest with the RE x pipe with EVC. Click image for larger version

lol it wasn't that bad. I had some past experiences wiring on this car because it had this pioneer radio with nav from way long ago and I had to tear that out. then I had to wire up the oem radio but I wanted something that would look better so I got the dynavin nav but the screen sucks but im going to deal with it. I had to wire the backup cam that came with it and it's basically the same thing so it only took me about 2 hours. I also know which wires to tap into since I have the multicolor angel eyes that are tapped into the same power source. now wiring that backup cam for the first time was the worst experience ever, took me over 7 hours but I'm glad i got the experience and learned so I could excel in future jobs as in this one!

what do you have on section one again? rasp killers?

That's awesomen! Took my like 20mins until I couldn't get the wire to the exterior lol

Correct. I have the Status Gruppe Rasp pipe.

I never got the chance to hear it without them since my past exhaust was a magnaflow(came with the car) and it didn't have flages like any other exhaust.

If yours sounds good Unresonated I might just pull them out
