Aux works fine. I thought all business steroes had this option? I guess u could check your manual for the stereo and see if it mentions aux
If your not the original owner than it is possible that your car has had the stereo replaced at some point or you are one of the lucky few to have received a newer version.

Yes, I believe you can do the AUX, because I could not: In your first pic, your radio's back has pins on both sides. Mine, which cannot (2001 330xi), had only pins on one side, which were for the CD changer. The pins on the other side are for the aux cable.

According to many sources that I have read, they claim his part number will not work despite having the pins on both sides.

You need to pull the radio out and inspect the part number. See post #22 for p/n compatibility.
