Help! Newbie in need of part numbers

Hi all,

Just bought my first bimmer and joined E46fanatics. Trying to get the car through safety inspection and it has the typical broken rear spring so it failed .

Does anyone have the SPECIFIC/EXACT part number for rear coil spring for a 2004 330 xi and a vendor that carries it?

I've looked for hours and hours on this and other forums as well as Pelican and other parts sites. Found parts for the '02 and '03 xi and an '04 330i but I can't find anything for this exact year and model.
Any and all help is much appreciated and sorry if i sound exasperated, just have a time deadline for this...

Call dealer, give them your VIN, they'll give you the specific part number. It varies from VIN to VIN.

You can't look them up on realoem. Dealer needs to look them up by vin and options on the car. I just had to by the ones for my 04 X3 at the dealer because it has sport package and none of the ones on eBay were for sports package. Get the part number and do some research. There are other manufactures that make them and they are a lot cheaper and probably better quality.

So, I called the dealership and got the part number (33-53-6-756-977) for the rear springs. But every site that I normally use (Pelican parts Autopartsway etc.) says that the springs are a special order from the factory. and probly Big Buck$.
So, I did a Google search of the part number and found a couple sites that had it, one of which was this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...9SIA1060PF6941
Has anyone here ever used this site? It looks like a middle man for a company on the East-coast which doesn't have really stellar reviews - but the price is pretty good.

Don't cheap out on suspension components, it's a huge safety risk to do so. If you don't want to buy OEM springs, you can probably get an entire set of 4 Eibach springs for less than one or two OEM ones.
