Well on the streets most of the 1 series that I see are driven by males. On the contrary, 90% of the 3 series that I see are driven by females. Not that I care, but if you care, I would drive a 1 series instead if I were you

Reverse Google image search comes across forums that suggest it is an Accord or Acura with a Corvette rear. Might be another Honda win.

I've never driven an MG Midget either, or the new Mini.

I wouldn't even bother sitting in a 1 Series let alone drive it. Let's face it, it's no classic.

My wife loves her E46 Coupe. She thinks it's the best car she's ever owned.

It costs more than your E46, so what does your car say about you? What does a 3 series say then? "I can't afford a 5 series." What does a 5 series say? "I can't afford a 7 series." No. That's retarded.

I don't think you understand the purpose of the 1 series.

That car is pretty pimp.

You can appreciate the craftsmanship because the car does have a style theme and looks decently fabricated. The whole car is a classic hotrod style theme from a certain era by design and the interior and exterior match it. Everything seems to fit as well, nothing is falling off.

"Rice" IMO is poor taste, non-traditional/mixed style choices, topped off with extremely poor execution.

The above example I gave of the Civic describes it perfectly. It's not sure if it wants to be a sporty car but it can't be a sporty car with a likely 4 banger and all that added weight.... a low rider, but then low riders aren't usually these small cars like a Civic or as new as that car either.... or a limo, clearly that car has no type of luxury whatsoever... or a tank? 3 axles.... And the overall execution is garbage.

Correct.

What BMW says about it: "Maximum you: the all-new BMW 1 Series 3-door combines sporty dynamics with the urbane vibrancy of the metropolis."

... urbane vibrancy of the metropolis... Now that's funny.

No thanks. Looks like a Chrysler.

For the record, civics are riced out way more than e46s. Most trashy e46s are reversible, however some are worse than others. I found one on craigslist today that made an offense punishable by death.... M3 badges on a 323ci. Not to mention the bodykit.

So you're saying you can't afford a 6 series? Have fun driving your crate and barrel grocery getter 4 series.

I'm all for personalizing your car; I'm just starting to do it myself. However, there are some rules:
1. Maintenance>mods
2. Screw what people think. It's your car,do what you want.
3. Don't be cheap about it.
4. Don't make your car a "poser"(i.e. the 323ci "///M3."
My car was making a noise over the weekend, so I took it into the shop on Sunday. Apparently it needed a new AC compressor.
I just spent $1700 for my AC. :impin:

The 1 Series is like what the 3 Series should be. The new 3 Series are something more like what the 5 Series used to be. In any case, in the SF Bay Area, I still see more riced out Japanese cars than riced out e46s. They are out there but just not more than Civics.

6-Series are OK as long as you don't mind driving the same car as my dad.

1. Be your own person
2. You must make it tasteful

Well, I don't, honestly.

And I agree with comments above: the 1 series is what the 3 series should be today. The current 1 series is basically the same size as the e46 (please don't come with measurements, etc., this is a rough estimate.. please). Whereas the 3 series is a boat today.
