And I agree with comments above: the 1 series is what the 3 series should be today. The current 1 series is basically the same size as the e46 (please don't come with measurements, etc., this is a rough estimate.. please). Whereas the 3 series is a boat today.
it's pretty obvious by all his posts that he's just trolling us all. i actually thought he may be serious but seeing each new statement in this thread he has to be trolling.

I'm just pointing out the absurdity of your comments about the 1 series. It's a BMW. Sorry, it doesn't appeal to you. I guess you're not the target market. And no, the target market isn't just people who are looking to buy the cheapest BMW because it's a BMW. Yes, it opened up a price range below the 3 series. So what? It's also the most enthusiast oriented BMW currently made.

Yeah, he's trolling and I have plenty of troll feed. I think Podman is BMWCaptain.

Re: E46 is the most riced out vehicle out there - worse than Civics

WTF, I thought 'rice' only applied to Japanese made vehicles/motorcycles, e.g., 'rice burner', since they grow/eat mostly rice, or has this term stupidly become more generic?

I'm ok with whatever anybody wants to do to their car. It only makes the good ones look even better! In all honesty a lot of your first cars prob had a little rice action also. My 87 grand am did. Dark tint, big spoiler, neons. But that's 20 yrs ago now, times change and so do people's taste.

No, I'm not in their target for that platform.

I'm actually not all that brand sensitive either. If it wasn't for the 4-series coming out I'm quite sure I would be buying something other than a BMW next.

When it comes to cars, it's best not ever to be too myopic.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Not everyone views the same thing the same!
maturity: understanding and coming to terms with this simple, but challenging concept.

E46 is the most riced out vehicle out there - worse than Civics

My general rule is maintenance first and first "mods" should be a set of good winter and summer tires and maybe some euro spec lights. Basically, if it doesn't come on an e46 somewhere in the world, it shouldn't be there

That's pretty much ridiculous. It's just a matter of being tasteful and not putting grotesque parts on the car.

Pardon my utter ignorance, but what exactly does one achieve by lowering their car and adding extreme amounts of negative camber other than scraping every speed bump?
