I NEED Help Passing: Even After Reading Threads For A Year

So after year of reading threads I have come to the point where I need help and I need help fast. Long story short, I have had to pass inspection for the past two years. Two Augusts ago it failed.

I had a few codes throughout. At this point I am down to NO check engine light, no codes, but my eve app in secondary air systems are still not ready. I have my own scanner and scan it daily. Have a very busy schedule and limited knowledge besides what I learned on the threads that I haven't been able to work on it every day but regardless. My last codes were: Two Too Lean codes: P0171 & P0174. The last time he's codes came on it took 2000 miles, 800 miles, 1200 miles. I have driven 1200 and still nothing.

I have tested Sec. Air Pump for vacuum & pressure (All Good), Replaced: Camshaft sensor, MAF sensor, checked coils, spark plugs, intake boot, Performed regular maintenance every 3k miles along with Filters; and I'm sure I'm missing something else. My mechanic supposedly changed the fuel filter And smoked out the car twice. I also checked the DISA and all other hoses ect.

I'm at the point where I don't know what to do, lost my job, and have a certain amount to work with right now. But I need to get this car fixed and pass inspection before cotton notices it or my insurance company notices it. Luckily no one has noticed.

I have a few things in mind that I would like to change but I know they will be difficult for me. VANOS Seal & other seals/gaskets lol.. Since I've heard it was it expensive job I know I will have to figure out how to do this myself with the DIY's that are available.

I need help. Any suggestions anything. The only thing that comes to mind is doing a software flash or something. Any suggestions I'm much appreciated.

Oh and for the record, those codes are typically thrown when your lower intake boot has a crack in it, which is fairly common. The MAF ends up reading a different amount of air than what goes into the engine, thus causing the two infamous codes. If you are not familiar with what i'm talking about, its an elbow tube located pretty much directly under the DISA valve... its the last part of your intake before it reaches the manifold.

So after 1200 miles the secondary air injection still hasn't came up? Do you keep deleting the codes that come up, because every time you delete them the whole system resets itself again even if you only cleared a code, you should check under the car, the little hose that goes from the fuel filter to a hard line, that pops in to the intake boot on top, it plugs in to the "F", there's a bigger hose on top and a smaller one on the bottom, that little hose deteriorates and it pretty much breaks off or has a hole in it, so it has no vaccum and it can't regulate the pressure because the fuel filters have the fuel pressure regulator on it, did you also use the right spark plugs? If you use anything other than the NGK double platinums you will also lean codes.

I've had the lower intake boot charged before. Also forgot to mention the fuel lines were replaced..

I've deleted the codes the last time (over 1200 miles ago), but haven't since because it hasn't come up. A few people I've had take a quick look at it said there's nothing they can do til the light comes back on lol.. So wtf.. And

YES I'VE searched for A YEAR; and tried mostly everything.

I just watched this video. I know its for another car but I'm going to try & search & see if there's a way to check it. I have a scanner called "USCAN" and I can read live data but I don't know the normal values. So I don't know

Mind you the car runs "ok" given its age. 2001 325ci. Sometimes the RPMs flutter, SOMETIMES...

if I hold the break and hit the gas really easily, and I mean really easily while at a red light, sometimes it sounds like the car wants to shut off or shut down.. Its automatic but It actually stalled twice when I was in reverse and hit the brake and hitting the gas verrrry slightly. Don't know if its related but its happened a couple times.

Could it be related to the fact there's oil seemingly coming from the vanos exhaust solenoid? Not sure if its the connector or the o ring; but could this cause the evap & secondary air systems not to be "ready" ? and for it o take soo long (1600-3000 miles) for the lean codes (p0171 p0174) to show up?

Have you tried a smoke test? After 2 years I'm sure you've exhausted many ideas but don't overlook the obvious.

The MAF was 0.53 or something in park after 25 min of driving.. Is that low?
