BMW 330I Turbo

Hi, I'm relatively new to this forum. I've been browsing and found some interesting threads. I was wondering if you guys could assist me.

I would like to Turbo charge a 330i however some people says that the compression would be too high with the 3.0 crank. I will be running Arias 84.5mm pistons and 135mm eagle rods. Would this application work?

Regards

It depends on the fuel you run, and how much power you want to make.

The Technique Tuning turbo kit makes over 300rwhp on stock compression with pump (91 octane) fuel. Jimmy in Sweden made 500rwhp with a stock engine using E85 fuel.

In the RSA you don't normally have the best fuel, so dropping the compression to 8.5:1 with pistons, or a 0.140" thick head gasket, would be a wise decision to make between 300-400rwhp.

Thanks for the response. My goal is 540hp as the car will be used for track purpose.
This is what i have heard from tests.
- a 3.0 crank gives you a comp ratio of 9.5
-a 2.8 crank gives you a comp rstio of 8.56

We've got AVGAS in RSA which is 100 octane however the E85 would be best

Didn't Jimmy find out that e85 also better because its runs a bit cooler IE slightly lower engine temps? I know trying to hit 500 he was having some temp issues if I remember. Ill try to find the post but I'm on the pot taking a dump lol!!!

Lol.. Thanks man. Would appreciate that. I'm curious to know what comp ratio does the 3.0 crank give seeing that the stroke is 89.5 in comparison to the 2.8 crank which stroke is 84
