My Ride: 2001 325Ci
intro repost - 325ci Melbourne

posted in new members but figured I'd put a recap here too

been working on my 325ci since end of last year, got it on the road a few months back. have done all the work myself, haven't done more than an oil change before so steep learning curve! good times though.

Started out with:

bad points:
Engine stalls when accelerator pressed at a reasonable speed
LHS mirror snapped off
fairly big oil leak in engine bay
missing spare tyre/jack/some boot carpet
missing head unit
missing passenger seat
missing grill/badges, some associated deep scratches
~230,000 kms
some wood trim missing
few other random scratches
airbag light on
doors wouldn't unlock by the remote

good points:
got it on the cheap (clearly, because it was so busted up)
Black metallic paint
sunroof
tan leather/myrtle woodgrain interior
18" BMW style 189 wheels
lowered further with King springs
all wiring for a good sound system already installed
has some cadence splits in the front, pioneer speakers on the parcel shelf
dark tint
meyle HD control arms and bushings

Have since fixed all that other stuff, and:
smoked side indicators, LED angel eyes wired to cabin lights
new battery
wired up an amp
replaced guibo
did oil/air/cabin/fuel filters, topped up with liqui-moly
ghetto fixed the GM5 relays
NGK sparkplugs
replace Oil filter housing gasket
replaced rtabs, added reinforcer discs
replaced diff bushes
fitted Koni Yellows
replaced thermostat, did a cooling flush
cleaned it right up
set up INPA/NCS, coded some modules (comfort open/close etc)
new front tyres

.. and probably a bunch of other stuff that escapes me right now. cooking up an android head unit but that is another story.

anyway, some pics:

Mate, that was a terrible condition to start with, and missing a seat? I hope it did not cost you more than $2000.

Great for a project car and to mechanics learning. Have fun and good luck.

Pics did not come up. But welcome.

You need to upload pics to somewhere like imageshack then post the link here.

cheers - has been a bit of work but have loved it. helpful that I have a car club in an old hangar at my work so can chip away at lunch times etc. Hopefully the pic links have been fixed, they worked in the preview mode but something must not have been right with skydrive
