Hi,
Just picked up this 2003 325i Individual Sport, Carbon Black.
I have driven alot of BMW's and I am very impressed by the way this car drives after 10 years and over 200000klms.
Even though it is suffering from the normal gremlins, sunroof cartridge, etc... it is a pretty good car.Iam looking to do a stereo upgrade and hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
Located in Brisbane, Qld, Australia.
ThanksDarryl

Stereo upgrade eh? Well, I'm sure you have experience in wiring something but with this car, it's a little different. If you plan on switching out any of the components, plan on switching out everything, eventually. Aftermarket systems aren't compatible with stock. Sure it'll work but sound just flat out horrible. No not horrible in the sense that I'm being picky but when you actually do switch it out correctly you will wonder why you didn't sooner.

Eventually, once you get door speakers in, you can use existing wires already in car, just remember to bypass the amp in the trunk. What i did was cut the wires that were headed to stock amp and joined it to the cut wires leading away from amp for each speaker. That was before getting an amp to power them. For that just run wires from amp going straight to the wires instead per speaker.

Oh and even the simple task of getting a new deck in isn't exactly easy or standard. If you struggle with this, stop what you're doing, take a breather as your hands are probably scratched and bleeding by then and Google it up. You may run into some threads I gave tips on

Welcome aboard.
Just a heads up about the previous post.
That's generally sound advice (no pun intended) but is based on a US Spec car.
Unless you have HK Audio, you will likely only have an un-amplified 6 speaker setup as per Euro/UK/Aust/Canadian spec.
Some more info here:

Welcome! Good to see another Brissie member.
I've done a simple sub and speaker upgrade on mine. 12" free air sub in the ski port and new alpine 6" splits in the front doors. I'm happy with the sound out of the factory head unit and only run a mono block amp for the sub (still yet to be installed properly).
It's certainly short of a full aftermarket setup but it's pleasant for the daily drive to work and still enough for the cranky loud "stress relief" on the way home.

PM me if you want more details.

Thanks for the info guys, My music needs are not large aslong as I have some tunes playing in the background, I'm happy. I actually like to hear the engine when out for a bit of a drive.
My daughter(4y/old) on the other hand likes the tunes, but the main motivation is to get bluetooth in the car.
