- Official : E46 Side Skirt Options -

One thing I have never really noticed is the difference in side skirts that we have as options. Obviously there are noticeable differences with the aftermarket ones such as type H and GTR, but all the others look pretty similar to me.

Could you guys post up some pictures that show off your side skirts on your car? I'm trying to decide which ones I should go with. I would really appreciate it, thank you.

Updating the OP with an attempt to show all the side skirt options.

E46 Sedan Options:

Stock Sedan Side Skirts

Stock ZHP Sedan Side Skirts aka M Tech II Side Skirts

Sedan With M3 Side Skirts

E46 Sedan With Hamman Side Skirts aka Type H Side Skirts

E46 Sedan GTR Side Skirts

Post some pics of your ride. What bumpers front-rear do you have?
Side skirts should match the rest.

I run a CSL rep front bumper, M-tech side skirts, and i have a M-tech Rear bumper in storage, just have to Mount it on my car.
But You Can take look at it and see what you think about the combination (touring by the way).

Thanks for the help guys. Ok so Mtech II sides look pretty good. Not a huge difference from my stock ones, but it's noticeable if you are looking at them in particular.

If this is what the M3 side skirts look like then I think I prefer Mtech II.

Sedan, and wait, this ZHP's side skirts looks different than the other silver one I posted? It looks like yours.

Edit: I'm guessing sedan and coupe side skirts look different?

Mtechs & ZHPs have the same bumpers/side skirts.
Sedan-touring Mtech have the same side skirts.
Coupe-cabrio Mtech have the same (different from sedan and M3).

Yea I think I prefer the mtech sides over the m3 sides. Mtech looks like they sit lower also?

Here is my car with Mtech sides. I had Mtech on the rest of my car, so the these flowed the best.

And then those are stock side skirts in your sig?

My mtech wouldn't look like yours though because I have a sedan. But thanks for the picture because if someone else has the same question as me (and has a coupe) that might help them.

Yes those are stock sides in my sig.

Well side skirts are universal for coupes and sedan! haha. But no problem

From what I know... the M3 sides begin to stick out sooner than the mtechs sides. In this way, M3 skirts make the car look wider but shorter, and the mtechs make the car look longer. If that makes sense. haha

Are you sure? I thought coupe and sedan side skirts were different lengths? And I'd rather my car look wider and shorter than longer, do you guys see any pics of a sedan with m3 style side skirts?

I'm pretty certain they are the same size. Only issue I heard of was one of the mounting holes was a little different, but thats a very simple fix. I know that OEM M3 skirts fit a sedan...

But someone correct me if i'm wrong!

Edit: Just looked at some other threads, and the coupes will fit the sedans... but fitment might not be 100%. Coupes are a couple mm longer.
