smart-dressed w/ loud socks... yea or nea?

lately I've been seeing more and more men wearing suits w/ loud socks. not sure how I feel about it. it doesn't look bad to me, but it doesn't really strike me as fashionable.

The fvck? People actually tailor their pants to look like that?

Maybe if you're 20, but in a professional environment, gtfo.

Socks can make or break an outfit. With that being said, that pic is definitely an ass hole outfit lol. Loud suit, gawdy shoes, and ok socks.

Ditch the pinstripe suit and get a proper double monk without any broguing, or get a classic lace up balmoral.

Um...there's loud and then there's shrill. Those socks are shrill.

What part of the tailoring is bad? I'm pretty sure he just has his pant legs pulled up so you can see the socks.

I don't like pinstriped suits and I think the socks and shoes are not so great, but I don't see any problem with the tailoring, per se.

If you need to ask if that's fashionable, you have no taste.

Anything louder than this, in a business environment... No.

At the Christmas party, at a wedding, at a high-class bachelor party... knock yourself out.

+1 I love these threads where people come in and crap on the style of the person in the picture, but offer no actual critique (let's see some specifics) and no example of what might be better. At least Boogety (for example) posted a suggestion of something.

the cuff thing is acceptable?

There's a rich kid I see sometimes that dresses like he's living in the 40's, dressed to the 9's all the time. He's going to England to become a Milliner which is pretty cool. But to see him decked out while everyone else is wearing cargo shorts or yoga pants is funny.

Sure. I don't wear a lot of cuffs, but a properly-proportioned cuff is fine. At least this one appears to be properly proportioned. I hate it when people have tiny one-inch cuffs on their slacks.
