This is hilarious.

Back to the socks, I think the ones posted, with the pinstripe in the suit and the shoes are too much.

But similar socks with a more conservative suit and nicer shoes wouldn't be bad.

Is it hilarious? Is it?
I've earned my way. Even when I worked for my father I never took more than what I earned.

I'm inclined to agree... a conservative suit w/ nice shoes... and a slight show of loud socks shows confidence.

Stripes on stripes is a thing now FYI. Patterned ties on patterned shirts isn't a sin anymore. I actually like this style and those shoes are awesome IMO

For what it's worth, the guy in the original picture works at Nordstrom or Saks or something like that and sells high-end menswear.

We all like to make rules about dressing for business but the most important one is to dress for your audience and the message you want to send.

I'm diggin this brawl here. Not gonna get involved, but I always wear black socks/navy socks with suits. On the topic of suits, 1 is a solid dark navy blue and the other is a black with very very faint accent lines running in the fabric. Both tailored for a clean fit

This is very true, I'm not a fan of the style of shoes, but I do like the suit and socks, just wouldn't work in my highly conservative office.

People need to learn to dress for their environment. Sometimes trying to be a trend setter can send the wrong message.

agree, suit is a little ill-tailored, socks are decent, shoes are tacky.

The shoes aren't that bad, especially compared to other stuff he owns.

I guarantee those pants are a reasonable length though.

I said I had a good stapler.

Get a secretary for the big jobs. If my Swingline cannot handle it, one with a handle will. Plus, we email stuff.

No offense was intended. Striped socks vs. pinstriped suit as mentioned above made for a good thread.

Happy you have a career that requires you to staple more than 30 pages at once.
