Never done that. I've never done 1 set and decided it was time to leave... Lmfao.. Anyone can work hard when they're feeling great. But only the mentally strong can push through when they "don't have it".

Dude I'm sure everyone on this forum(and that's a lot of damn people) has gone through something similar at least once in their lives. I know I have!! On a few occasions. Remember that time heals all wounds and one day u will be like "wtf was I so uptight about??" you just have to give it time.

But most importantly don't stop taking care of urself. Some girls feed of that ish! Show her u are strong and hit that gym with a vengeance !!!! Live strong!!

Mr. Tough bro,

What's wiser: if a person does not feel they have energy to workout. Go against what their body is telling them and risk injury, or listen to it?

It's not about being mentally strong, it's about just feeling like $hit and not having much energy to lift. My doc diagnosed me with depression lol

Given that I sleep and eat well, why don't I have energy and feeling like $hit are the reasons I created the post.

The ironic part, my doc drew blood for Testosterone check, mine was 930 (had the test when I was sick and did not sleep well). The max normal is 800. If I had the test on a good day it would have been 1100+ easily. The doc joked that some guys need to take an injection to increase T, I needed an injection to reduce it.

Exactly my point. And like I said before. Anyone can workout hard when they feel great. But only the mentally strong can do so when they feel like ****. There's a very distinct difference between listening to your body and bitching out of a workout. Which you are clearly doing. Which is exactly why you have sub par results to show for it.

Is it wise to squat if your back is aching that day or your knees are really acting up just to be a tough guy? No, not at all. Is it wise to continue to bench press bcuz everyone says you must, even though it bothers your shoulders and elbows? No. That's not what I'm saying.

The people who progress are the ones who push through days they don't wanna be in the gym. They're the ones who get creative with their workouts and keep things fresh when they're unmotivated. The people who look the same year after year, are people like you. They may make gains but quickly lose them bcuz they're inconsistent.

We all get depressed. We all break up and make up. We all work. We all have families. We all have stress.

in response to you lmfao

i've lived on the street

if you are insinuating that a person is not tough by their actions in the gym you are part of the group that thinks the gym is a social club where you hang out and talk about the girls you banged with your boys

i push through martial arts cardio

not understanding that it isn't your day when throwing weights around and subjecting yourself to injury is complete stupidity

push on

When I'm down the gym is the best thing for me, crank up the Killswitch and Pantera.

Odds are you're body will do just fine. It's your mind convincing you to stop. Simple as that. Tell me honestly that you didn't look for an excuse to do a half ass workout.

Your excuses are the reason you weigh as much as I did in the 9th grade.

z00, post up what you're eating. I could have sworn you were near 170 at some point and I think you're 5'11 so you must be pretty small now. I still feel small and the scale this morning said 183.6. I'm 15lbs heavier than I was summer 2012

You're saying I'm just making up excuses to skip workouts?

As far as not being big, it's my choice, my ideal weight would 170-175lbs at 9% BF. Big and not toned is NOT what I want.

Saw you pic, you did get bigger, good progress!

I eat pretty much this every day:

Breakfast:
French toast (4 whole eggs with 2 slices with whole grain bread) + 1tb olive oil

One fiber pitta bread sandwich with olive oil and some herbs

Lunch:
1 cup of brown rice with grilled meats 16 oz (chicken, lamb, beef, turkey)
.5 cup of yogurt

Dinner: 2 chicken breasts with some greens

On soccer or workout days I add to the above 2 protein shakes (1 scoop whey + .5 banana + .5 cup yogurt + 1tb chia seeds + 30g almond powder)

So around 2000 cal on non-workout days, 2600 on workout days. Enough?

My goal is to gain weight slowly maintaining my low BF. I was near 170lbs last year. If I get back to 170lbs with my current BF that would be great. I'm 5'11.5" and I look small at 158lbs. I know once I get passed this depression state I'll start to make progress again.

You keep losing so I don't think it is enough. I learned something recently. You'll never get bigger if you're afraid to gain some fat. Just eat, dude.

You're right, I could eat more. I'll up my intake on workout days to 3000cal and keep it on other days at around 2000. I can easily fix any gaps in my diet, but lack of motivation and depression are the real problem. Which are harder to overcome.

About a year ago Justin Lascek did an AMA on reddit. Here is my question to him. About 3 months ago is when I thought back at what he told me and it helped me where I am right now. That program is pretty much the baseline of what I am doing now.

basically eat 1.5-2lbs of meat a day, and lots of potatoes with a lot of butter.
