Thumbs down man in 335i gets critical note for parking in handicapped spot

sad... person writing the notes should keep to the folks they see casually walking to/from their cars.

Hope the guy that wrote that gets hit by a BMW, and gets paralyzed from the waist down...the irony would amuse me.

meh, he probably (as all of us do) sees people w/ blatantly illegal tags abuse the system daily. he was stupid to assume, but I just hope he got embarrassed (as opposed to getting paralyzed).

Who cares. I would not be mad AT ALL.

I would actually be happy that someone gave a crap about handicap spaces/people.

What are the chances that someone is in a wheel chair with black wheels on a 2 door lowered BMW.

I have seen Ferraris, Vettes, etc in handicap and thought to myself...

"self...if you can get in and out of a Ferrari, how handicapped could you be?"

Then entire story gets a from me.

Whats an illegal tag? You never know what someone's condition is, even if they appear normal. If there is a tag in the window, then the person can park in the blue spot. Are there people that abuse it? Probably. Is it an epidemic? Hardly.

There are plenty of conditions that are not readily apparent to the average joe. Just because someone doesn't look like steven hawking doesnt mean they are not handicapped.

what are some of these conditions? (not being a smartass... I just can't think of one that would justify a close parkingspot)

Epileptics, those with artificial limbs (if they wear jeans, you might not see their leg), scoliosis, any kind of spinal problems (person might just be in pain when they walk, they don't necessarily walk funny), mental retardation, celiac disease, slipped disks, etc etc etc. Its not our place to judge. If they have a tag, then they can legally park there. Like I said, sure, some people get these tags just because they can and want to use the spaces (usually abused by obese people), some take their moms tag, etc, but I personally don't want to judge someone like the guy who wrote the note, and be wrong. Its not my place.

I don't blame the note writer, but at the same time I would never even bother to write the note.

I would do the thinking thing mentioned previously and move on.

Well then, like gun owners, most are not abusing the handicap spot.
