So your ideas on human nature don't mesh with your love affair of the free market.

Capitalism works on the relationship of human nature and the market.

Human greed and their desire for power allows for manipulation of the system.

You believe that humans have a moral obligation to pursue their interests. With an unregulated market what prevents their obligation of self interest from manipulation of the markets? Without some form of regulation people will attempt to enslave others for their own desires. Human nature exists in a state of war they constantly seek power over other humans.

Do you think greed, manipulation, and other dark traits of human nature will disappear because they didnt exist in an Ayn Rand novel?

Don't you understand that capitalism "works" on the idea that humans are greedy and work for themselves? They strive to make more money and they follow their desires.

That is why unregulated capitialism can never work in an unregulated market. Greed can be a destructive force.

Greed with government involvement is destructive. Unregulated capitalism is just fine, but I'm willing to let some laws stay. I'm a nice guy.

I think that by doing this , there is more cooperation and less extremism.

It would be awesome if political parties were just outlawed. There could be no political affiliations. People would have to vote based on the person's qualifications, belief system, etc. Anyone who thinks that one 1 party is the problem (dem or rep) is just living in fantasy. Neither party is the problem. The system is the problem.

That's a very good way of putting it. If the system were changed I'd happily give up the word libertarian, although it's more just about freedom rather than an actual party. But either way I like your idea.

serious question, do you believe in innate rights or that rights are granted to you (that is, they are a human construct)?

also, do you believe in God?

not trolling.

As far as I'm concerned, the rights we are given mean nothing unless the government is somehow involved. So we can say that we are born with these rights all we want but they apparently aren't when the government tries to take them away.

And no, would it surprise you to say I don't?

Yes or no. Do you think rights are innate? Example, natural right.

Sure, the founders of this country said it, and they were the original libertarians.

I think you need more John Locke and Adam Smith.
