I was thinking of going to some sort of Shrick cam in the high .250's low .260's
Range something good for the street
I was thinking the M50 throttle bodie and adapter.
It does not seem to be very easy to find a Better intake manifold so any information there would be awesome awesome
Obviously the normal header, exhaust intake ,and ECU tun

Would it really make that much of a difference going from the stock 25 pound to an aftermarket 10 pound lightweight flywheel

Also going to a different cam
Are Injectors, fuel rail, and pump going to be needed

I am a lot more experienced with the M52-series and S50-54 engines than I am the M54 when it comes toppullingmo repow erout of them, but here's some of what I've found to be beneficial w the aforementioned engines (I do have a 325i but it's the least modified E46 I've owned in terms of engine/power)...

The absolute best thing to do is your suspension, spare no expense and get it set up perfectly. Same for brakes, and the StopTech Stage 2 brake upgrade kit w slotted rotors, from Modbargains, is my go-to setup for non-BBK setups. Power means absolutely nothing if you can'tget it to the gground and stop quickly, and I build cars up with the mindset that the suspension and brakes should always be more powerful than the motor, relatively speaking.

Now as far as the engine goes I like to start with reducing drivetrain losses, as this increases the existing power's ability to get to thegground, and also makes it much more responsive to throttle input.
I would include in this category:
- Pulleys (UUC, RE, TMS all good options)
- Clutch and Flywheel (I have somewhat recently switched from a regular LTW FW kit to the UUC dual mass flywheel and clutch Stg1 kit and I absolutely love it; it's seriously as easy as stock to drive, but the entire clutch+FW assembly weighs 24.68lb on my scale!)
- Stiffer Mounts (UUC Engine mounts + transmission mounts w enforcer cups + TMS/Meyle HD diff mounts/bushings)

A good set of lightweight, strong wheels with very good summer tires will improve everything from acceleration to grip to braking. 18's seem to be the sweet spot for aesthetics and performance, and Apex Racing wheels seem to have a very good reputation although I have not personally owned any. Kinesis, BBS, they're the high cost options and having owned both, they're absolutely worth the money if you can afford them.

I can't help with cams for this engine, but generally speaking you will lose a bit of low end but gain a good amount of high end power.

The money you are talking about in engine mods alone, though, I would be remiss if I didn't recommend that you instead go forced induction. I love the ESS twin screw supercharger kits, and add a set of headers and you will make an insane amount of power, and have full boost just off idle. It's like having the normal engine power just shifted up 100bhp or more on a dyno chart and with a perfectly flat torque "curve".

I was planning on flywheel just didnt know if it was worth it
If your telling me I can do a flywheel and clutch combo that's weighs around 25lbs I'm sold

I was gonna go header either way
So pulleys like as in lightweight pulleys

What about taking away the clutch fan and going to dual 12" electric fans

I really don't wanna go forced induction
If Cams, an s50 Tb in which the adapter for is less then $100
Header,
Exhaust which I can get custom where I live for less then $650
And ECU tune
Is gonna cost more then the $5500 for a stage 1 ESS supercharger ,Stage 2 being $6500
I know all about the ESS system, Awesome yes, Very pricy

I'm not looking for insane power
I am just wanting a bit more power

But header is probable gonna be well ive seen as low as like $119.99 ,But probable around $350, With $650 in exhaust which I would have to spend on top of a supercharger Anyways

So in reality
Cams an s50 TB with adapter and if I need injectors with cam can't be more then $2000 plus $1000 for exhaust and header
As opposed to $5500 plus another $1000
I'd rather spend $3000 if that and be right where I wanna be
Then $6500 and be crazy power range

Since flywheel clutch pulleys aren't gone be cheap
Car needs struts anyways
So I would like to go to coil overs
I have new control arms to go on when I get struts and of course alignment

I'm planning on an every day driver
I

I don't mind loosing a little Low End with cams if I have a lightweight combo in flywheel and clutch
With 3.38:1 in the back its not hard with a 6 speed the keeps the RPMs up

I understand now not going to the cam idea

I'm gonna order an engine soon
While I have it out I wan a throw whatever I can on
I'm goona do the pulleys and clutch and fly
Are the TB spacers effective at all and I'm gonna go ahead and toss on a header while the engine is out.

I live not to far from ESS In Arizona
I can make the drive
Since hey do decent supercharger
I have called and talked to there tech support
I could pull my computer and take it done there for a tune
Since you need a Tune to run headers
That's why I was thinking of cams cause I need a tune to run the header anyways.???..

Cams are one of those mods that are very much influenced by the rest of the mods you have done. Since you are doing headers and an intake, I would say that would be beneficial, but if you intend to add FI then hold off as the needs are different.
