14pin vs 17pin connectors on stereo

hey guys
i have a 323ci from -00 which i've been looking to get aux for the stereo to.
i don't wanna get an aftermarket unit since it most of the time looks like sh*t to change to that in a e46.
therefore i've been looking for a newer buisness stereo, the ones where it's possible to connect aux.
now when i've found one i have a question about the connctions.
the cableharness in my car only have connecions for 14pins but the harness in the newer car has connections for 17pins, will this be a problem or will everything work anyways?

here's a pic from my car

and here's from the newer car

if someone could answear this for me fast i would be very thankful!!
