ChrisRedmons Build Thread

So throughout this past year or so i have done a horrid job at documenting my ///M's progress. Lacking pictures throughout all of the changes, i will begin with this. This is a list of everything purchased and on the car to date. Some items have been removed from the car in lieu of other items.

Sure i'm missing little stuff here and there. I will try to consistently update this list upon new purchases/installs.

After buying/financing a 2010 colorado brand new, straight out of highschool, owned it for two years and modded it a little

However....It was gutless. A few of my friends started buying e36 M3's.

I was quite jealous to be honest. Such pretty cars. I was becoming addicted to the feeling of speed and seamless cornering that their cars produced. I love working on cars and they always had a little project to do here and there. With the truck being brand new......I didn't.

Put the truck up for sale on autotrader. Sold the following day.

Throughout a few months with no car, i was determined to find a 6MT/Coupe E46 M3. I love all of the colors this car was released in, however.....i just wouldn't settle for Tiag. Everything around here was an SMG!

Eventually decided to pick up a 2002 Phoenix Yellow Coupe w/Nappa, Nav, Cold weather package & 19"s.

Driving it home.

Aesthetically & Mechanically there were a good amount of things wrong with it. The PO had stickers all over the dirty ass car and it honestly looked a wreck. He had said he had an intermittent misfire that he couldn't figure out and the car was breaking his wallet :laughhard:

Hundreds on 6 new coil packs/spark plugs/air & fuel filter/oil change/injector cleaner/new MAF and she's running a lot better.

Try to ignore the 235/30/19 on the rear 9.5" wheel. I don't have enough bad things to say about the PO

I cleaned up the car as much as possible and took a ride with a few of my E36 buddies.

Around this time i had removed the CDV, which really unmasked how shot the clutch was in this car. I assembled all of the parts (refer to the above list) And took it into a trusted forum member. Coinage!

I knew this was just one of those jobs i didn't want to do on jack stands

New clutch & some plasti-dip fun!

Tinted inner bowls with stained glass paint, wired in a resistor and some yellow LED's for the DRL & white/blue corner markers to match the halos & tag lights.

Dafoe doing a valve adjustment for me :hattip: Only 3 out of spec and VANOS components secure

At this point i did a plethora of maintenance items. Didn't spend much time on "mods" per say. Just little things like halos. Refreshed the interior around this time as well. The car was running better and regaining its beauty week by week.

New console, ashtray & euro tray. CF wrap which has since been removed.

And then as usual...... Exhaust & Wheels

I purchased a Zerotek exhaust that needed a little love. Also bought an AR20 and all new gaskets to fix a leak @ section 1.

From this :

To this:

And Ceramic Coated/Polished Tips :

Final product. Ignore my co-workers lack of filming ability. :rofl3:

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...ps86be8278.mp4

Purchased these Avant Garde M310's that you see here at some point. Ended up never throwing them on the car and sold them off.

Really worked hard on the suspension for a good while, replaced the rotors & pads as well to get that BMW feel back. Through all of the busted bushings it had lost its magic. After the above listed bushings & some ST coilovers. She feels great

How i spent a couple of days.

Started attending things like BimmerFest!

Started to really grow tired of the CF wrap. Looks tacky. Decided to go a little crazy and wrapped the interior in suede...

Fell out of love with the OEM 19"s shortly after. Picked up some OEM ZCP's and threw on some Conti DWS for this upcoming season (225/40/19 255/35/19). Also threw on some CSL Splitters.

I love this car and am very proud to be part of this community. I will try a little harder to document the car in full from here on out. Thanks for looking guys

nothing like an e46 m3! looks nice man! quick question, is that shift knob, just the knob or do you have a short-shifter installed too? I've always been curious how high the knob will sit on a stock shifter
