Hey guys, I have the e39 variant of this unit in my 530. I did a factory default after installing to get everything back to how it's suppose to be....

I can't figure out how to get this thing back into English...

Don't despair! I did this with my D5150 in my E46, and its not that bad. You just have to go into settings and change the language back to English (or whatever language you use). Then re-enter your other settings.

Although the language changed to Chinese on the reboot, the icons should appear as they always have. Just go to the main screen(s) and scroll until you see the icon that has always accompanied your settings. Press it, and go down the categories until you reach the one for the language selection. (On the D5150, it is about the fifth or sixth one down.)

Just keep going until you find it on yours. Then once you do, just try the selections until you get to the one you want (ie. English) and click on it. If I remember correctly, they also have a flag shown along with the language name, which makes it easier to identify your language when its rebooted. (Note - "English" uses the British flag, not the USA's) Click it, and it will change back to that language. Then the rest of the setup is easy to re-enter.

For the future, I always suggest to everyone that they briefly write down their setting selections, including the several pages of radio pre-sets, as it makes it much quicker to reenter everything. But at least pay particular attention to where the language selection setting is, so you can always do that first.
