I've been using Sygic with my phone as tomtom wasn't availible at the time i got my phone, now you can get tomtom.

So there is a lot of choices on this as it is running Android.

tomtom,Sygic, Igo, etc.....

then GPS systems first became avalible to us consumers in a large scale i used to stick to tomtom which i think is great, but lately i'm starting to prefeer Sygic.

But you have to decide for your self which one is best (Some prefer the mother some prefer the daughter and vice verca)

One small tip:
Use stylus for much more responsive touch screen.

It's still under road testing for overall features/stability. I may post an overall review after a few weeks more usage.
I think future consistent updates would make this more 'near-perfect' unit, if Tommy has plans to provide software(or rom) updates(as all android units do).

I've used sygic for years without any issue on my iphone. Not sure what re-routing off line means (perhaps reverts to the cellular network when GPS satellites are unavailable (tunnels and the like)). If thats the case then sygic does do this.

On the software update scenario, thats my hope too.

I used google maps offline, as long as you have the space to store it it's not an issue.

What I mean by reroute is reroute the navigation if I miss the exit etc without a cellular connection. Some offline application can't do that and I've been told you can't download Google Maps fully offline just certain routes you choose.

Yeah, but Tomtom and Sygic uses satelites for navigation, it's not dependent on Celluar signals to reroute.

I have't read all the above posts, but I'm looking for something like this. However... *please* tell me you don't have to use a stylus like in the demo video. That would be a deal breaker for me as it's no longer 1995. I'm assuming it was just to keep your hand out of the way, but please confirm that it's just as functional with a finger as with a stylus.

You do not need the stylus. It was only used for the video demo so the viewer can see what is going on on the screen without my fingers blocking the view.

You can map the NAVI button to your choice of installed navigation app by going to:

Settings / Car Settings / Set the default navigation

Question. As I understand it the android OS is an older version? Will newer apps work as they should? i.e. are apps' OS version dependent? This is my first android device so excuse the dumb question. I'm just planning what apps I want to load after I install it.
