Approaching 1 Year....

Good afternoon fellas. I have been dating my current girlfriend for almost 1 year now, it will actually be December 31st as that is when i asked her out this time last year. I want to do something big for her. Our relationship is going extremely well and i want to make a lasting impression come new years.

We go out pretty frequently, dinner, movies & even car meets

So....i'm kind of lacking creativity here. What have you guys done for your girl for an extremely special occasion that went over perfectly?

I was thinking we should go see some fireworks and pull out some jewelry while enjoying the show?

Seasoned vets, help me out here.

I really do love this girl so i would like to make something really special happen. I wont go into sappy detail but, shes great. Absolutely great. Any help is appreciated

Halloween

Cute, not into the Kei$ha look in the first photo. She looks 10 years older than you.

Don't start a trend you cant maintain... Just sayin...

Been married 25 years,, Ya learn some things ya never wanted to know...
Sometimes its the weirdest things you get credit for,, and the bling is about 50% successful.
BTW just curious, have you ever figured out how much she spends on hair and makeup? It might blow your mind...

A designer silk scarf is a good grabber, its something you gave her that she wears, that's a "good thing".. (tm)
Macy's or if you have access to her wardrobe check the tags in the cloths, most women have a store they like,
shoot a pic of the closet and then you know what colors she likes.. Take the pic to the store and look for a middle
aged sales female, they love to help spend your money.. Go upscale 1 level above the stuff she normally buys.

Jewelry is tougher than ya think ,, A trip through the mall past the shops with her is a good way to get her likes
figured out. Pay attention, they will point out the things they like,, they know the game..

Cheers
Dave

How about doing something together instead of getting her gifts?

I surprised my then girlfriend by telling her to pack her bag for the weekend. Bring rain clothes, fine dining clothes, swimsuit, winter clothing... This will confiuse the hell out of her. Donīt tell her where you are going.
I then took her to a SPA quite far away that she didnīt know about. Spent the weekend there and it sort of started a tradition for us. That way you can keep her guessing and on her toes and you both get something out of it.

^ This. I don't even know where the necklace I got my wife for our 1st anniversary even is. Gifts will be around for a few months or years, memories last forever (depending on alcohol content).

This year for Christmas, our gift to each other was a trip to Jamaica.

By all means throw her for a loop and get her something truely crappy like a lunchbox or something of the sort just to take her down a peg, that's always fun to do.

Whatever you do just be sure you're not wearing cargo shorts at the time

I've had three girlfriends so far who I've been serious with and found myself in the what gift to give situation. Be it birthday, holidays, anniversaries. I never went $3k purse or anything; however I had no problem picking out a piece of jewelry, modest purse, pair of shoes etc. Now that those relationships are over, I recently found myself wondering what has become of all those material objects that seemed so important at the time and seemed like a great gift Part of it may be that I'm no longer involved, but it also made me realize that it was the experiences that last the longest. A nice weekend somewhere, an adventure she's been wanting to have, even a walk through the zoo and a picnic afterwards. A small gift that has a lot of meaning to it is always a good addition, but focus more on creating something for the both of you that will last longer than any store purchase ever could.

Good advice. The problem being, we are supposed to get some good snow this year. My company is contracted to take care of a good portion of BWI airport. So i cant really leave as i have to coordinate the arrival/departure of all trucks & every bag of salt.

And i get 5% of gross sale. Dont want to miss that.

^ At some point you'll have to take a step back from the job. You'll find that out soon enough.

You can always give her the tickets for a future trip as a present and celebrate the day of with a good dinner and a night in or something of the sort.

Im sure i will have to give up some work sooner or later. But it tis not the season.

I feel like a trip would be more expensive than some modest jewelry ? no?
