HPF Stage 1 - Methanol question!

Hi guys,

I wonder if I install HPF Methanol kit on my car should it work fine with HPF AEM EMS? It should detect the methanol automatically when I turn it on and there is no need for remapping, am I right on that?!

Any ideas about this?

I made some searches and found this HPF quote from an old post:

"Our methanol system is automatic. No flipping switches or uploading maps is required. When methanol is detected, our system automatically allows the turbo to provide more boost, increases timing to benefit from the higher effective octane, and drops fuel to the injectors to compensate for the methanol fuel creating a very safe A:F ratio."

does this mean that anyone who has HPF stage 1 and want to upgrade to stage 2 no needs for uploading maps just installing the Methanol kit?!

It seems that is ok for installing HPF Methanol kit on my car. First I have to buy one , then I will see how the car is running.

For sure I would like to unlock my AEM and see if it is setup correctly will contact you on that when the time come for it.

Till now my car runing fine on pump gas and race fuel also.

If you're looking for a full HPF Meth System let me know as I have one with a brand new unused meth pump that I would sell for $500...but as mentioned earlier I wouldn't recommend a 100% meth system...now if you were to set it up like Being3 and use a 50/50 mixture and only use it for cooling...then it would be a more reliable setup.

Re: HPF Stage 1 - Methanol question!

When they said its automatic that means it'd automatic, if the tune is there for it, after a certain date all hpf stage 1 and 2 kits had the tune. But what they meant about no uploading different maps was just that it would switch to what is already there automatically.

Thanks for explanation. What was the date when they had the meth tune for all HPF stage 1 and 2? I Bought my HPF turbo kit since April 2011!

Thanks guys for the help. I just finish my HPF meth kit installation..it is true that I faced some leaking issue but at the end I work it out.

Results: the car has already the maps for meth due to the latest production date of HPF AEM. The car runs fine no issues at all. I know the other issues that might occur from the meth but I'll try to manage it.

Will keep this setup for a while tell the next upgrade:cool:
